He's single-handedly gotten my interest in classical music rejuvinated (more like raised from the dead o.o ), and made me care about going to college. xD Meh; total mush coming up, but the darn boy changed my life. xP *glomps his picture*

I had a bit of a low last summer. Not that my life was hell, but I just was, well, not happy. Difficult to explain. Guess I just get mood swings, and that with some other rummy stuff makes life somewhat harder.
I clutched to Moab as if it were a life jacket, that's all. And now, well, he's my idol. Like you said, the man changed my life. Life is better because it's got him in it. I started reading again, and I appreciate things I would never had liked before. He's a source for wise words and comedy. He revived my English with all his wit. He's, well dash it, he's STEPHEN FRY AND I LOVE HIM.


LOL-look at us. Moaning and squeeing and swooning. ^^

Yeah, I understand; I sort of had one of those years. xD Started with my Sweet Sixteen being celebrated by moving out of an extended stay hotel. Yeah. Packing suitcases. And it WASN'T a vacation we were returning from, either. We were fleeing a mold-infested apartment & preparing to move into an (at that point) unfurnished new rental to sleep on mattresses on the floor & sit in camping chairs until the movers arrived with the sanitized stuff.

Sooo... my year was suck-on-a-stick. xD Plus I kept having these crises of life-plan; and I get rather hard on myself when those happen because I'm like, "HEY. You don't do that, missy. You're more together than that crap. GET IT TOGETHER." xD And that only makes it /worse/... (darn perfectionism. )

And there was just something about BoFL & Stephen & whatnot that made, I dunno, made the world a little easier to trust, I guess. x3 (had a lot of reasons not to trust it, that's for sure)

Egad; *steps back & looks at self* I'm like one of those weirdos at the book signings for Kevin Trudeau going all "OHMYGAWHD HE CHANGED MAH LIFE AAAAH." and meanwhile they're wearing mom jeans from the 80's.

HE'S STEPHEN FRY & WE ALL LOVE HIM. Huzzah.

Stephen and Hugh, oh, they'll always will have a soft spot in my heart, specially Stephen. I guess because it feels like you know him a little. Like a distant uncle you only see at New Year (but you really wish you saw him more as he brings wisdom and cool presents.

Well, exactly; (and yes, I'm pretty sure that is Santa you're thinking of xD) it's rather hilarious, I was watching BoFL's pilot on a particularly boring/unproductive/and otherwise unsatisfying empty evening & just slowly, not weirdly or suddenly, noticed, "Ahh. That's better. =o" xD It was sorta cute. And I was absolutely in love with Stephen at the end of the first sketch. You know, where he's being shown the photographs from Hugh's vacation? xD Poor guy. Just wanna hug him & make it all better.

And my mom actually said, roffle, that, aside from the bent nose, at certain angles, I look like a female Stephen (squee! I'm purdy! ) And his writing has been SUCH a welcome change from, well, the rest of the world's utter CRAP. o.o

See, I guess you could call me one of them thar "gifted" kids. If you count being at college-level reading comprehension at age 8. =/ Yeeah. Was hard to find me age-appropriate, yet challenging, reading material. Unless they wanted me scarred for life, they had to keep me bored xD And as soon as I opened my mouth around other kids, I got the blank, O.O, holy-crap-are-you-an-alien stare and I just gave up. Stephen feels like the kind of fellow who would never give a person that O.O look, and would actually keep you on your toes linguistically. xD

AboF&L makes everything a billion times better. You can't help it but smirk. And that sketch is SO GOOD. My favorte is Mr Dalliard, the shopkeeper from HELL and my first, the first time I set my eyes on the glorious combination that's Fry & Laurie is, yes, the "We may be stupid, but we are not clever!" love at first sight.

Gifted and Stephen-alike in a pretty way. My word. You've hit the jackpot! Stephen talked about stuf like that, IQ, genius, being clever and whatnot. Look it up. Pretty interesting.

Me, too I only get one for about 3 hours after watching the BBC; after that, I am hopelessly Classic American. ;-; No lilt, not even Southern; just... "American". Flat. Californian. Blah.

As long as the subject's even remotely interesting, yes, I am rather a writing fan x3 Now, ask me to come up with 500 words on, say, the Civil War, and I'm drawin' a big fat blank-o-rama. -.- That war is not only uninspiring but seems like the sort of thing a nice long meeting of opposing parties over beers could'a solved. Oh well. xP History... ain't my thing

Aww D: Here's one piece of writing advice that always saves me if I'm locked or lost in a topic; my mom told me to "Write the way you talk". It's like instant messaging, just, avoid chatspeak xD Just write as if you were adlibing about it to a friend. You may still go back & edit what you get, but I virtually guarantee you'll have something on the paper in an hour xD
