Its funny you're making a collection of celtic knots. I just started going gung ho on drawing and wood burning celtic knots. I haven't uploaded any yet because they're all on uncompleted staffs at the moment.

No problem, I actually triad making this chain last night using 20Ga tarnish restiant copper with a 3mm rod, it came out too tight for my liking. I think the tarnish restiant coating adds just enough to the wire size to not make it work.
Does your chain stay uniformly round like in the picture?
Im working on a variation right now that seems to have a little more flexibility, I'll have that uploaded soon enough.

Yes it stays just like in the picture. I just used solid copper wire 20ga awg 3mm sawcut rings. Mine is very flexible and not tight at all. Maybe it's the coated wire your using.
