Eh, it went tits up about two years ago... but I've gotten into online LARPish games since then, including a Changeling: The Dreaming game. I even made that Sidhe of House Balor based on Edmund Blackadder that I said I was gonna make.

Yep. I still talk to some of the people I used to play with on that board even now. I even tried to get a few of them into the online LARP thing I'm doing with mixed results.

Another player and I inherited it when the original ST's wife became very ill. I'm actually having trouble tying up a couple storylines he left hanging so the players can move on. It's a very slow moving game, but I'm glad for it. It's always there when I return from a deployment.

Has anything improved with your boss since I last wrote? How about your new job search?

No problem. And no, things haven't changed much... but I have been offered a new job in Sheffield. I should be starting sometime the following week.

I talk to Tehf occasionally, but not all that often sadly. I miss playing with her and her characters.

I'm in this other series of games on the same site. They're run by a pair of roommates and it's a combination of New World of Darkness Mortals and Call of Cthulhu. Makes for great horror. Not for the faint of heart. So far, we've had 2 of the games spoiled by people who couldn't follow the site's rules, but I'm having a great time with the third.

She was so fun to play with. One of my faves, actually. To be honest, Topaz/Gerherdt (sp?) used to chat on ShadowNEssence, but once we started playing together, we really grated on each other's nerves. That and I was tutoring her in math and losing patience.

Quite a bit to go through here...

His Fae identity is that of the youngest son of Lord Blackharren, who was the captain of a ship in the navy of King Balor the Evil Eye in the Bygone Era of humanity's distant past. He was one of his father's lieutenants along with his older brother, Greyjoy, who was the favoured son (which annoyed the hell out of him... Blackadder and Game of Thrones was a big inspiration for his character concept, in case it wasn't obvious enough ).

His mortal identity is that of Arthur King Jr, part of the King patriarchy that owns King Breweries & Distilleries (the same one that is a Pentex subsidiary), of which he works in the company's Public Relations Department.

As far as personality goes...

He can come across as a British "Upper-Class Twit Of The Year" due to his expected Sidhe arrogance (and Megalomania Derangement).

He has a long list of fetishes which has built up over the last year for no reason other than to amuse myself, other players and even the Storytellers... and of which includes;

- Snake-ladies (he is presently lusting after a Naga-like snake Fuath Adhene)
- Merfolk (he lucked out and acted as bodyguard for a Selkie Countess on a visit to a Merfolk colony. After the meeting, the ranking Merfolk they met made a pass at him thanks to an 11-success Etiquette roll earlier on)
- Axe-wielding nuns (after a Winter Solstice party with sexy nuns that turned violent... and after a Jaldaboath song of the same name that I absolutely love)

On a more serious note, Ironborn is a formidable and cruel swordsman who has regularly killed anyone that threatened him or his allies in a single blow since around Halloween time. At the time of this writing he has mastered the Art of Sovereign and has a competent knowledge of a variety of Commoner Arts (Primal, Wayfare, etc).

Sounds like he's been through a lot. How long have you been playing him?

I played a young, displaced Murdhuacha for a couple years after MP. She was a jellyfish type, so no sexytimes. Everyone was too afraid to touch her. In the same game, I have Satyr Autumn Person. For an autumn person, I love playing her. She's linked up with a band of hunters (no imbued in the game, so it's more like a phony neighborhood watch) and they have no idea that she's not really a human.

Then the ST's wife got deathly ill and he turned the game over to one of the other long-time players and me. The other Co-ST hardly ever logs in. And I'm completely stuck with what to do next. I don't have many players, but I'm taking over the game from a story line that doesn't make any sense to me.

I've got a pair of mages (verbena and coe) that are abo ut to assault this pentex-sub company. The company makes prosthetic limbs that actually help people. But he wanted the Mages to get in there, do some corporate take over and fight a monster in the basement. There were 2 more mages, but they had a fight with the ST and quit the game. Their characters are supposed to be killed in the upcoming battle to be written out.

Then I've got a pair of werewolves (there were others, but they were played by the same people running those soon to be dead mages) who just finished some gnarly battle. Afterwards, they found that a mortal had been watching them the whole time. Without freaking out/experiencing delirum/whatever. The mortal is another PC. They take this guy *back to their Sept!* And they're just letting this guy hang out while they talk to their elder and do all kinds of rites to honor their dead.

After I took over the game, I could read all of these threads and PMs. So I'm like WTF? And the werewolf players are like, "Wasn't this character supposed to have his first change?" And I'm like, "1. Please stop metagaming. 2. He hasn't changed at all. You just brought a random hobo to your sept."

A couple new players joined the game. One I like. The other I don't. The one I like is very experienced with Mage. I don't know what to do with her at all, but she seems like a fun person with a sound character build. The other is newbie vampire player and dumb as a box of rocks. We can't talk about anything, because she understands nothing. And gets crazy temper tantrums. But the other GM loves this chick, so she's in the game. And alive. For now.


I took up this game because I didn't want it to die, but I think I'm in over my head.

I've been playing him for just over a year now.

The first one sounds interesting as there was a bit of a plot in the game I'm in set in the Kingdom of Apples where Queen Merala of the Merfolk was assassinated by a bunch of Dagon-worshipping Merfolk and their Murdhuacha allies. I never realised how interesting they could be.

And yeah, that sounds like a real problem... Its a shame but if there's one thing I've learned about our hobby is that it attracts a lot of people that are just arseholes, you know? I wish I could help but I'm uncertain where to start with that thing. Maybe have a word with the other GM about how you feel, perhaps?

Oh, BTW... I'll be starting my first shift at my new job today. Wish me luck!

The other GM is hardly any help. She can't make any decisions. In fact, before she was picked up as a GM, she spent 4 months (real world time!) deciding which totem her pack should take.

Part of me just wants to scrap those storylines and just say, "Werewolves walked the human dude out of the sept. Mages went to their meeting and nothing bad happened. It's a new day." And then start a new story that I can get behind.

In fact, I think that's what I'll do. Thanks, Alec. I guess I just needed to see it typed out to realize that was the answer.

The job is in my industry and is most definitely a challenge, but I kept finding myself trying to talk myself out of working there because the environment was so unfamiliar and that it was so far away from home.

I mean, they never said anything bad to me personally but I just found it not fun to play with her between the power-playing, their gang of Inanimae that constantly followed them around (which, now that I know quite a bit about Changeling, seldom ever happens) and one sentence replies.

At the moment? Not a lot. Might do something for that Changeling game I mentioned to you about or I might just have an early night.

And no, nothing has changed but yeah he's allowing me to still workout there. He did ask me to do a shift on Saturday but it doesn't look like its going to be a constant thing at the moment.

I'll be hearing from my new job about the provisional rota sometime on Monday, I think.

That and she was just really deep into the game. Whenever I asked how she was doing, she'd only talk about Gerherdt. I know that some people only talk about game, but she spoke as if she was the character most of the time.

I'd say something like, "What's going on?"

And she'd be like, "Chuchu and I are brushing hair and enjoying a rose serenade in the eternal summer of my bath house."

Whenever I asked again how *she herself* was doing, she'd get snippy.

What are you guys up to? I'm doing some laundry. I've got a language proficiency exam in about 5 weeks. So I'm studying all week except for Saturdays and half of Sundays. My husband and I have been playing cooperative games. We're in different states right now. Our game group still meets at our house. Right now they play a Cthulhu game twice a month and board games once a month. My time zone is a couple hours ahead and I can usually stay awake long enough for a board game, but not for tabletop. Yesterday, we got online and played Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes (video game) it was a good time.

Installed Windows 10 on my computer and now my printer won't cooperate. I just put out a local ad. Hopefully, someone will buy it soon.

Any change with your boss? New job coming up, right? It's a bummer to stop working at a gym. Hopefully, you can still workout there and he doesn't make it uncomfortable.

I used to work in my local gym but there's been a new staffed/unstaffed hours timetable put in and, despite the fact that my contract guarantees set hours during the week, my boss is refusing to give me hours according to the new timetable. I'm going to be looking for a new job as well as speaking with this government organisation in the UK that deals with disputes involving employment law soon.
