I actually HAVE thought about that, but with the length of the series I eventually determined it wouldn't really be too feasible, though I am tossing up the idea adding some more conceptual or scene animation loops to have in the background for the next book.

Sure thing! I like to use Casting Call Club (link above) to set up my casting calls. Typically an actor or actress will put their fees up on their profile page on their site, but I'd say a good benchmark is somewhere between $1.50-2.00 per line for a really good actor. Seems like a small amount, but it can really pile up. For the first book, I had only a few actors, but each got somewhere in the range of $150-$250, and this was for a shorter book.
If you plan on doing the editing, music and sfx yourself, like I did, you can count that out of your costs, but if you have someone doing that FOR you, it's going to be a few thousand more than likely for a fairly good audio engineer, given just how much work goes into the production of an audiobook with effects and music. If you plan to cut the music and effects, it'd probably be a few thousand dollars cheaper, but still expensive.

Well the book ITSELF I've been working on for over six years now. It's gone through a lot of different renditions before finally becoming what it is today. Two years ago I finished the first book and began the audiobook, and due to some issues with an actress who no longer works with me, production ended up delayed for over a year, until the first entry of the audiobooks was finished early in the Summer.
