“I ka Wā Mahope l ka Wā Mamua-The future exists in the past.”
I have been dedicating my artistic vision to unveiling the past in order to cultivate a future where man accepts his place in nature. I have been working toward this through multiple avenues of expression: the illustration and writing of books; proposals and implementation of public art; mass media; and the curating of or participation in art exhibits. I have been working with other artists and groups such as Mangabento to provide artistic opportunities for the public and youth.

Normally, I have no interest whatsoever in 'anime' or cartoons,
however your pics of the sharks and surfing theme caught my attention
so I continued to browse.

Do you design shoes? If you look at the icon I am using, the kabuki actor is wearing geisha shoes. When I drew them I was originally going for a massive geta. I didnʻt realize what I drew until I saw a Japanese drama with a gesiha parading down the street.

no, sadly I lack the creativity to design shoes although I sometimes 'embellish' or
'sweeten up' shoes that I see.
Gesiha shoes are cool, if you looked at my 'rocking horse shoes' gallery you might
assume that I have a fascination with them too. They have considerable similarity.
There are artists that have talent and then there are artists that have skill. The best
artist has a wonderful combination of both. Honestly, I would have to admit that
I am one of the ones that has refined a skill over the years and little else.
The feminine form complimented by an attractive pair of shoes is a beautiful thing,
or so says I.

Fire department needs help doing one or 2 more boards this sunday if any one wants to help. The boards go in front of each station. Its a fun event. Mangabento will most likely do 2. Jump in with Mangabento or we could make a new group!

How to Draw Manga Faces Workshop

Recommended for ages 8+.
Mangabento, a group of artists and fans of Japanese pop culture, will cover basic techniques for drawing faces in manga style. If you have a particular drawing tools you like please bring them. If not, we will have some on hand.
Register for workshop. $10 materials included. 10 kids per workshop session.

The two images I just posted are for story ideas- one is about a pre med student who ends up inheriting Kusanagi- the grass cutter- and is thus expected to defend japan from evil as one of the few imperial retainers in the modern world.
I have one story related to this that needs to be drawn along with concept art if you want to help out.
The other is Kikaida growing up in Hawaii unaware that he is a robot untill he suddenly transforms at the sound of Gill's flute.
