Yeah I'm sort of new to landscapes so I've been practicing them to make my style looser. That and I really like the 'concept art' style of landscapes and painting. I'm hoping to do more after I finish a couple commissions so keep watching Mainly what I did to start was take some landscape pictures and tried my best to get the gist of them in 30minutes. I think it really helps when you add some custom brushes into the mix because it helps you get rougher textures for rocks and things. Also really looking at color of things and how objects colors get less saturated as they go further back in space (Sorta why mountains look gray/ purple and hazy in the distance. Do you use photoshop when you do yours or?

I have the same thing going for me, though I still need to get the hang of speedpainting... But I use Paintstorm, and I love it a lot!  It has some really nice brushes that I've grown very fond of!

Yeah I just added a bunch of custom brushes to photoshop but I'm still getting the hang of using them to get what I want. Like right now I'm working on the bark of this tree which is all mossy and mildewy. Its coming along but man idk how some artist get so good. It feels like I'm improving at a snails pace. I just joined like the one speed painting group on Deviant Art. So hopefully that will push me to do more pictures and get better quicker.

hehe thanks yeah I'm also quite alot into medieval stuff and fantasy and regarding program..I started with maya, then switched over to 3dsmax, which most of the models are made in that are in my gallery, but now I'm with Blender no real secrets though would say it's rather boring just learning through tutorials and trying out XD

I notice the same pattern from my own class... We all started out in Maya and as we got along, some continued in Maya, and some went with Blender... But yeah, learnign it is boring - but boy, the results you can get when it Does work out still astonish me to this day

It's definitely something they should get working on! Like you say, Zbrush is partly the whole 'clay experience' but it's not IT. Still, especially seeing how much you draw, it's a lovely in-between o3o If you're going to 3D print something, take the tiny broomstick, you have the ultimate desk/keyboard cleaner ;3; I'd definitely have one of those...

agree I personally find 3d modelling rather...unintuitive would prefer if I could do it with my hands like digital clay (and no, things like zbrush are still not my hands ) but if getting into it, the results are amazing even with simple things ^^ some day I will have to get a 3d print of one of my models lol

Maybe you said it before I dunno either but I appreciate it double all the same!    I'm still trying to find what my art style is, I'm charmed by SO MANY art styles it's almost too much!  Right now I feel like poking left and right to see what suits me best yet I often end up at the same place xD
