Hey, any family moments for the turtles are always welcome! And I definitely didn't expect the new Splinter to be so cuddly!

Glad you think so! It's the family moments that make the series, honestly.
The new Splinter is... unexpectedly good. Even if he doesn't appear like that from the outset.

Guess that just shows first impressions don't always mean bad landings for series, huh?
Is Rise good?

Haha yeah, "Rise" I think rubs people the wrong way at first because it's different, and people sometimes don't like change. Which is understandable if you're used to a certain version of TMNT. But personally, I love it and all it's little quirks, and, yes, I think it is a very good show. It has consistently made me smile every time I watch it. It's got flashy action sequences, top-notch animation and voice acting, fun (and unexpectedly nuanced at times) characters, and, like I showed in my art of Splinter and the kids, wholesome family moments.
I actually made a video on why it's awesome if you're interested in checking it out (no spoilers): www.youtube.com/watch?v=173ZJbβ¦
(actually I made 2 videos, but this second one is more Splinter and Leo character-specific and spoiler-y: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDGje1β¦ )

Definitely loved your review for Green Eggs and Ham too - I shared the exact same sentiments about adaptations, especially for something both whimsical and surprisingly profound as Dr. Seuss - just wish there was more like his work out there.
But maybe that's better served on your actual devs, no? I've been keeping you up for long enough!

No problem at all! I love hearing feedback like this! Feel free to comment on any of my devs or my page anytime, haha.
I'm glad you liked my Green Eggs and Ham review! I had a lot of fun with that one!

Breaking down the elements of good adaptations versus bad ones is always welcome in my book! And yeah, this is what got me back to looking at Dr. Seuss again - being able to see progressive, humanistic views even from much less flattering time periods is always welcome!

Certainly one of the reasons why I love Dr. Seuss. That man was a legend!

Well, here's hoping we can see more quality adaptations in the future!

Why is there always someone who has a beef with death?? Haven't we all learned that it's usually a bad idea to mess around with things like that?

Well, love sometimes makes people blind and stupid... even going so far as pissing off the god of dead

You know, why is it that a lesson comes around only after the trauma is done? I mean, couldn't we hear tales about this stuff happening the first time around and then go 'Okay, this is something to leave alone'?

Dudemon In reply to OutcastClankzilla [2020-02-05 01:20:33 +0000 UTC]
If that's the case, I believe the moral of the story won't have the same impact, especially since not every reader of the story is aware of the consequences.
