# About me

I have always believed that even if people disagree with one another, they should still respect one another. There is never a winning side, only compromises. I know that not everyone gets their way instantly, progress arrives slowly. When I was 12, I got into a bad bicycle accident which resulted in a broken knee, shoulder, and T8 vertebrae. I still don't know how I landed so oddly, it was all a blur. If I could have my way I would still be walking, I would still be biking. But after you experience an even in which you assume you are going to die, being alive is all I could ask for. Curiosity always has driven me, and being in the hospital for 8 weeks provided me time to think about disability and injury. My thoughts were commonly interrupted by physical and occupational therapists, which lead many of my questions to go unanswered. Today disability and injury still intrigue me, even though it's already been 7 years since my incident.
