Ahhh! Thanks, friend. Same to you! Sorry for the delay. I've been using my iPhone for all my computing tasks, because my laptop kicked the bucket a couple months ago. My phone doesn't handle Deviantart too well, for whatever reason, so I haven't been on for a while.

Thank-you so much! I have much to learn though in the areas you've specified, but it's good to know that I am at least heading in the right direction. I am definitely a sucker for details.

I agree that they are light (you're talking about my art portraits, not photograpy, right?). That is partially the fault of my camera, but mostly it's because I am hesitant to add in really dark colours/shades, because there's no way to undo them if they don't look right. Something I definitely need to (and will) work on.

You are @ _ @ I'd say you're only problem is getting use to darkness.

yes I was talking about you're art xD. as for you're fear of darkness; Get an electric eraser those eraser extremely well. You can get them at staples for 10$ boo camera D:ah these might help: [link] shading wise [darkness]. maybe. you're still learning dont be afraid to get dark.

-shrugs- I dont upload much to DA xD;... & when I do its only silly little things x:~ [link] that's the best one I uploaded but its crappy compared to my other traditional stuff x -x;

Not really, I just avoid doing most of the things that I'm not-so-great at, so it's not apparent in my gallery. I've got a long way to go before I'll be satisfied haha.

Thanks for the tutorials, they'll probably be useful. I've actually been thinking about getting an electric eraser! Thanks for reminding me. ; u ;

Yeah, I don't upload often either. I like that piece you posted though (I enjoy the wrinkles on her shirt). I don't have much in my gallery because I only upload finished pieces, and I hardly finish anything because I'm such a procrastinator, and I'm not entirely confident in my abilities yet, so I've been holding off on doing any major pieces.

Haha, you flatter me, thank-you. ; u ; It's not that I'm unhappy with my artwork, it's just that I know I could be better, and that I /want/ to be better, so I'm not going to settle for where I am now.

It was definitely good shading/clothing/figure practice. I can see the effort that went into it and it's really quite lovely.

I'm certainly going to invest in one of those erasers. ; )

Hey, no problem. Your photography is great. The colours and moods you manage to convey are really incredible, and I just can't stand when great art goes unnoticed or unappreciated - or worse, insulted.

Seriously though, I could not help but laugh at his comments. He has much to learn about photography and art, that's for sure. I think he should be focusing on improving his own craft, rather than rudely insulting those that are more skilled than he.
