Thanks for the favorite (Red Sake Set)!
Do you work with clay?
Have you done Raku?

Hi I'm a little slow on my reply. I work with clay for fun. I assist at an art studio mixing glazes, repairing the wheels, helping students raku, etc. (for free use of the facilities) Postpacman is a raku glaze name that is one of my favorites.

Post-Pac-Man
5 parts gerstley borate
1 parts bone ash
1 part nepheline syenite
1 part copper carbonate
1/8 part red iron oxide
This is a glaze from Robert Piepenburg's book Raku Pottery The measurements are supposed to be by volume, but I've always mixed it by weight. The book says it should be a crusty metallic, semi-dry matt surface. When I fire I watch the pot until the glaze smooths out, it gets crusty and bubbley before this happens. the final result is usually a colorful lustre, but don't rush putting it in your pit or it will be too coppery. Its gets very consistent results once you get use to firing it.

hi mark -- thanks for stopping by my page. I don't know anything about ceramics-- but, I have heard of raku. In fact, my ex bf's current girlfriend is a raku artist (and has some pictures of her work up on DA) --- you should check her stuff out; i think the name is gelfling822. Despite my lack of knowledge, it is my understanding that she is quite good.
anyhow, thanks for stopping by; your comments are always appreciated.
