Hey, I love your drawings! I was wondering if you had a tumblr because you seem like that kind of person...(not meant as an insult!) and if you do you should post the link so I can follow you!

Thank you! That's not an insult I take that as a major compliment I do not have or use Tumblr, but if I ever do I'll be sure to post a link. I tend to spend a bit too much time online as it is so it's probably not a good idea, lol!

If you want to know the ecological effects this has here is a link. This is what is happening NOW without the huge influx that free range would bring. (if you were to turn off the factories)

Most of the food we eat comes from those factories, so I can't even imagine what would happen if we turned all of that into free range.

Gah this is huge, ok anyway, the amount of money it takes to properly dispose of it usually drives people to overlook the rules. This would also raise the price of chicken (which if it was disposed of properly) I would be willing to pay, chances of the rest of America paying....very low. It breeds corruption, which is sad but true.

Thank you very much for replying back. Very interesting (and sad) predicament indeed. Yeah if people want humane and ecologically friendly meat it seems the only solution would be to pay more, eat less, or something weird like growing muscle cells in a lab. Usually I just tell people that properly raised and fed animals taste sooo much better that it is worth going for quality over quantity. Difficult to start a boycott though when everyone is going broke :/

As a reply to the comment you made on the chicken farm picture (she disabled comments)
I don't have a link of information, I live in an area where chicken farming is a big deal. I know the problems, because my water has been polluted by this in the past....antibiotics or not, the animal feces is waste and it is toxic regardless. It also fertilizes algae in the water which resulted in algal blooms which ended up killing tons of our fish. Have you ever been down to the river and smelled hundreds of dead fish? It is almost as bad as the horrible smell of chicken poop that emanates from the farms. Or that did. Also I am speaking of free range chickens....not the ones in the cramped conditions. Free range works if you only have a reasonable sized farm. Imagine turning the amount of chickens they have in those factories into free range....how big would that farm need to be? How much waste would runoff into the water. As much as I love the idea of the animals being free....the country needs to change their consumption before that will actually work. It makes me mad when people who don't have to suffer for their "humane" acts, push things they don't understand. (not that this is you, just some of the other people who posted).

That's awesome you could find something like that, I'm glad I could offer such a pleasant surprise. It really shows the potential of things like dA. Welcome, by the way. Can't wait to see some of your art. I've always wanted to be able to do fantasy drawings but could never quite get it down.
