I give you my warmest welcome on deviantART. Let me give you a few tips:

1. Do not upload an image that isn't yours on your gallery without the original owner's permission. Claiming it as yours is theif.

2. You can use bases obviously, just remember to credit the original base in your descriptions. But using bases DOES NOT make you an artist as all you do is modifying things.
