Whatever happened to a ponyfied Kimiko?
You did Jace and I figured she would be next, but I was wrong Why did you have to make me wrong? X'D

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-10 08:17:22 +0000 UTC]

lol, it's Kabiko not Kimiko (enough that name sounds adorable).
I sketched her along with the Jace pony, just haven't drawn her properly yet. I think I'm going to, but no clue when. You know, the usual project skipping

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-10 21:16:39 +0000 UTC]

*facepalm* of course Kabiko.
Kimiko was the girl's name in the cartoon Shaolin Showdown now that I remember. Oh okay I didn't know you had sketched her, I thought you might've done Jace and forgot about her.

ah, so that's where I've heard the name before. I knew if sounded familiar.

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-11 15:51:16 +0000 UTC]

Yes and I like that name, I want a daughter with that name or Kitsune.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-11 17:38:58 +0000 UTC]

lol, you consider naming your daughter Fox? That's cute, but I assume people will have problems pronouncing the name. I've encountered several people here who can't pronounce English names ("Jennifer" included) and I assume Americans will get Kitsune wrong.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-11 18:14:12 +0000 UTC]

haha yes I know kitsune means fox. I've had people that can't pronounce my last name and it's spoken the way it's spelled.
If someone gets it wrong she'd correct them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-11 19:18:30 +0000 UTC]

lol, yeah I guess. I've heard that in America you can name your children whatever you want (names like Apple and several people named after the city they were made in prove that, I guess).
Here you can't just pick too unique names. If I remember right a couple wanted to name their son Neo (that guy from Matrix) and it took them quite a while to get through with it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-12 18:28:19 +0000 UTC]

Oh God some of the names these idiots give their kids, it's insane. Micheal Jackson named one of his sons Blanket, WTF?! I heard on the radio a couple named their son Adolf with a middle name of Hitler and a daughter Airennation or however it's spelled, child services wanted to take the kids away for cruelity.

You mean to tell me a baby's name has to be approved if it turns out to be unique???
What about Adolf? Or has that one been banned?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-17 13:14:35 +0000 UTC]

yeah, I've heard about Blanket. Why not naming children Towel and Carpet? ...
Wow, that's bad. I wouldn't even say anything about naming a kid Adolf because it used to be a normal name before Hitler made that name a taboo to use. But Hitler as a middle name, not to mention the daughter's name - how messed up ARE these parents?!

Yup, you need some certain people to agree to the name. A collegue (he's over 60) told me back when he wanted to name his daughter "Susann" (the German equivalent to Susan of course) they told him it had to be "Susan" (apparently that one letter was such a big deal...)

But I'm not to sure about this matter law-wise, lemme look it up:

Okay, it's the register office that decides whether you can use a name or not. There are some names that are forbidden in general (for example "Jesus Christus", "Satan" - I see why, lol) and there are some other names they can say 'no' to because they will embarrass the kid (for example "BierstΓΌbl" - that's a bar where they mostly sell beer, "Sputnik" - a Russian sattelite it I rember right, "Oma" - lol, that means "grandma".)
Some of the people who can decide whether or whether not also say the name has to define the child's gender properly.

And I found a few more examples for names that weren't allowed to be used:
Berlin, Bodhi, Borussia, Cezanne, Frieden-Mit-Gott-Allein-Durch-Jesus-Christus, Grammophon, Heydrich, Holgerson, Lindbergh, Lord, McDonald, Moewe, Mechipchamueh, Navajo, Pfefferminze, Puschkin, Rosenherz, SchrΓΆder, Schmitz, Stone, Sonne, Tom Tom, Woodstock.

Not sure if Adolf is banned. I don't think it really is banned but it's rather that nobody dares to use it.

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-17 15:31:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it would complete the set
I can't remember what happened to the parents, it's been quite awhile since I heard the story, but from what I do remember it was to celebrate their heritage or they were making a statement or something like that, but seriously how is that celebrating anything but the parents' stupidity? If you ask me that is child abuse and their kids should have been taken from them.

Ah I see, you have a registering office. We don't have that here. Jesus is okay, but I'm not so sure about Christ and I've never heard of someone naming their child Satan.
So you can't give a boy a girl's name or a girl a boy's name? Does that include gender-neutral names?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-17 20:15:48 +0000 UTC]

O.o How stupid can they be? That ignorance itself is creepy alone, but to think that TWO people thinikng that way found each other.

You don't have a registering office? But I've seen a "Friends" episode in which Phoebe changes her name and goes to some office to do so where did she go there then?

I've read something about gender-neutral names when I researched the matter earlier today: There was some Β§262 saying if you give your child a gender-neutral name you to give him/her a middle name that makes clear which gender the child has.
Then there was some decision in December 2008 that you are allowed to give a neutral name because the name AND the gender are written down in the register of birth.

I know, maybe they used a dating site that matched them up and they found they had similar views, but those sites don't screen for that kind of thing.

I'm pretty sure we don't have a registry office. If we want to legally change our names we have to go to court and have a judge sign off on it. I think she went to the Social Security office, that's where I have to go to get a spelling mistake on my social security card fixed.
There's an NFL player that legally changed his name to Chad Ochocinco, because his jersey number is 85(dumbass).

Well glad we got that cleared up.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-18 10:02:51 +0000 UTC]

well, we don't know what kind of dating site it was O.o There's scary stuff on the web, you might even be right about them having found each other that way.

Ah, okay the court makes sense. Could be that you also have to go there in Germany before you can change your name in the registry office

Ochocinco?
hahaha, I just looked it up. Spanish for 8 and 5 how stupid is that? And what if the number on the shirt gets changed?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-18 17:25:58 +0000 UTC]

We'll never know unless one of us tries to get our name changed.

Yep. I don't think he's worrying about that, every team he's been on he's worn the number.
I heard another player is going for Metta World Peace(Metta is Buddist for loving or something like that)

:giggles: maybe you should also have a cat-ear and a wolf-tail surgery to complete the whole thing wouldn't want you to go half-assed in the process.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-23 20:25:45 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, you got a point there. Not sure how far German surgery is with the furplantation research.

Then again... I remember some freak on a talkshow some years ago who had implaten whiskers and pointy teeth. [link]

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-24 15:51:22 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't think you'd go through with that kind of surgery. Unless they perfect gene-splicing techniques you'll be tail-less and cat-ear-less until then.

Eww... I've heard of people doing that stuff for real. That's kinda taking it too far if you ask me. It's along the lines of "Vampires" having their teeth sharpened into fangs.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-25 09:29:59 +0000 UTC]

yeah
One day we all will be half-somethings and THEN I'll go through that surgery,t- O.O no wait, the world is gonna end in 2012, so it won't happen... damn

yup, that's too much. The edge-teeth sharperning is one thing, but the whisker implants O.o
And I think he also had his lip-to-nose part split so that it would be more cat-like...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-25 20:01:37 +0000 UTC]

But if the world ends on 12/21/2012, what time zone will it happen to first?

That takes obesession to a whole new level, kinda like the guy that has his entire body tattooed with cheetah markings.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainOff In reply to Ranmano1fan [2011-09-29 19:13:48 +0000 UTC]

I doubt there will be a certain spot where the world STARTS ending. I believe it'll all happen at the same moment everywhere
"We're all in this together"
They definitely should play that song on 12/21/2012.

lol, there's a cheetah guy, too?
Then again... why am I still surprised?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ranmano1fan In reply to RainOff [2011-09-30 19:58:11 +0000 UTC]

haha I was just making light that there will be places where it'll be 12/21/2012 and some places where it will still be 12/20/2012. But you know what? Just in case the world IS going to end on that date, and it's only 15 months away I'm going to start planning my trip to Germany very soon, I already have $1000 from an insurance claim on an auto accident me and my mom were in 2 1/2 weeks ago. I'm hoping to get more and enough to fund this trip, I feel meeting you is something I have to do.

No singing, if the world survives that day, THEN people can sing.

It's taking the whole "Furry" fetish TOO literal if you ask me.

AAAND on the other account of yours, look at "Who I Am" in my gallery for my nod to your work, and don't think this is meant to change the drawing, just to show you how I look (I suck at links...)
p.s. Every time I tried to raise my eyebrow I made my whole face look stupid, so that's why none of that.

I'll take a look at it, even though
I can't really work on the design since my computer is acting up. Changing colors does still work in photoshop, but once I try to draw... *sigh*
I'm sorry that your sprite takes that long to get finished.
