Hello there; Are you familiar with the concept of Equitaur and/or Equinoid?
Equinoid = Equine + Humanoid
Equitaur = Equine/Equinoid + Centaur
An equinoid is basically an anthropomorphic equine with the hooves and hindlegs of said equine's non-anthropomorphic/semi-anthropomorphic counterpart in place on human legs and feet.
An equitaur is basically the centaur(ian) equivalent for an equinoid.

It looks like I'm losing friends rather than making more, as seen by LanternLight14 and Lexi Fryestar, and my drawing isn't that good. And I'm really unlucky in contests, I keep losing. Currently I'm earning points using dAhub, but it's too slow to get up to the amount needed for CORE.

You should try learning shading as a next step perhaps, or backgrounds

have a tip: draw arrows pointing towards your object from a certain spot where the supposed light source is and shade where you think the shadows should go
