Sorry about that.Β I lose focus and motivation very easily and for extended periods of time, and these past few months have been pretty stressful.Β I'm still putzing around in Photoshop but I don't know what or when I'll have something to post.

Why haven't you drawn lately? I should very much like to see more of your drawings.

I'm really sorry about that.Β I'm still attempting to doodle, but I have trouble finishing things due to a combination of chronic lazy, being easily distracted, and/or lack of confidence and skill.Β If by some miracle I do upload something, it'll probably be super sketchy or just lineart, since that's as far anything I work on tends to go.
But thank you for the continued interest in seeing my scribblings.Β It really means a lot.

I would dig super sketchy, I just want to see something! Sometimes I thing the hardest part is just starting a drawing, the rest is just water under the bridge. Maybe try painting? It's hard to get the hang of, but I feel I can mess around a lot more with painting.
I'm chronically lazy as well, but once I get started its not so much work as it is fun! I saw you mentioned in a status update about the apprehension of looking at a drawing you did the previous day, but that is the best part! It allows you to see all of the parts you don't like with fresh eyes and give you the ability to change them. It's part of the reason I spend a long time on one painting, I like to not work on it for a while and see how my opinion of it changes (that, and I'm chronically lazy). Good luck! I'm happy to offer advice, however valuable or not so valuable it may be .

O-oh geez. (/ΟοΌΌ)Β Hopefully maybe possibly I can whip something up sometime this year.
That actually is pretty hard, but sometimes refining the drawing into what you want can be utter torture.Β I'd love to get into digital painting (I should really do traditional too) but working with Photoshop seems kinda scary in regards to coloring.Β I don't know my way around it all that well so I stick with lineart/sketches.Β Those are usually started with the intent to color, but... well...
Yeah, once you find a nice groove, things can go rather smoothly.Β Taking breaks is a great way to find mistakes but it also sucks because sometimes you get into that workflow the night before, go to bed feeling really good about it, and then wakeup and find out the parts you liked last night look really crappy now, and that can be a bit of a confidence killer.Β Taking long breaks and jumping around projects is how I majorly work, though, but it's also an excuse to be lazy and jump ship when I'm not feeling up to working on a particularly difficult part of a current drawing. :v
I get a bit nervous about asking for advice but thanks for the offer!Β I'll try to take you up on that if I ever reach a good point with something and maybe if I can stop focusing so much on drawing curvy girls.Β I'm probably one of the last people to ask about anything even close to realism, but you can always try running something by me if you want~

Well, I'm only 2 months late, but I wanted to reply to this. Seeing the drawing the next morning and hating it, can be a confidence killer but I try to be grateful that if I hate it, it must mean that I have the ability to improve it. Certainly, you have nothing to lose at that point lol. Sometimes, I don't hate it though, and that's more difficult to just dive into.
There is nothing wrong with drawing curvy girls. Draw whatever inspires you at the time. I will be sure to run some things by you, if I ever get back to drawing any time soon.

I meant that it'd probably be better to ask for advice on non-curvy girl drawings, since not everyone likes those and they can be hard to give advice on.Β I've been pretty focused on drawing those lately, even though I told myself that wouldn't be my sole drawing focus. :vΒ It kinda makes things a little extra difficult because I'm still figuring out how I want to juggle things.

I'm good too, thanks. Mostly trying to get back into dA and doing personal projects to distract me from schoolwork, haha.
How's the arting going?

That's good to hear.
I got a little caught up withΒ Pokemon XYΒ and Kantai Collection, so it went from "slow" to "dead".Β I haven't given up on a few projects, but I really need to track down which ones I was working on and which ones were backups or things I'm going to scrap.

How long does it usually take you to do a drawing? Just curious.
π: 0 β©: 1
Red-Fr0st In reply to Hexabol [2013-11-10 08:44:09 +0000 UTC]
That's a tough question.Β I rarely work on a drawing consistently because of school and other various reasons (not to mention goofing off), so it feels like weeks instead of a certain number of hours.Β Even though I'm on a sabbatical from school right now, I'm still having trouble breaking the habit.Β With Photoshop, it's easy to test out variations to the same drawing, but then I have to choose which one to finish.Β Eventually I become fed up with said drawing and start a new one to take a break.Β Rinse, repeat.
But really, I think I'm allergic to finishing things. :v

I guess that's a nice thing about new artists is that they're able to toy and experiment and such.
π: 0 β©: 1
Red-Fr0st In reply to Hexabol [2013-11-14 12:21:42 +0000 UTC]
Experimenting probably comes more naturally to someone who hasn't established a style or a way of doing things, but everyone should experiment regardless of how seasoned an artistΒ they are.
