Heya miin :3 I had a question about how commissions work as I've never really made any meaningful money from my art, but I would seriously love to. How should I get started so that I could do what you do? I have a serious need for money these days X) I'm broke LOL
I used to charge with points but now I'd like to charge with actual money. How can I make that happen? :3 Thanks friendΒ

One thing that would be super important is having a way for people to pay you! Most people on the internet use PayPal, however you must be 18+ to have an account. I've seen people link their bank accounts to Second Life and sell their artwork there! If you're underage, you'll just have to get creative.
Something else that's important is that freelance art is difficult to make a living from. I get a commission on average once every two months! However, there are artists who have been at it for much longer and somehow attract more attention. You may have to work on finding when the best time to post art is (if you're a SFW artist, post during daylight hours lol), and how to get people interested in you and your artwork.
People will say to hold free art raffles, but I say don't. What holding a raffle or contest does is get people who want free art, not buyers.
Maybe try streaming your artwork, or recording your progress! There should be information on that online.
But honestly, as someone who hardly get commissions at all, I think you may need to ask someone else
