# About me

Wood is a magic, stability between the ground, earth and air. Standing through the ages. Power of the water inside turns green into leaves and blooms, fly into the wind and cover the ground with colours of the sun...

I Like your gallery a lot! What kind of wood do you use most, and what's easiest carving in?

Thank you .
My favourite wood is a Walnut. If you want to try craving and donΒ΄t want to use to much strenght of you, try the linden wood. With sharp chisels is carving to it like cutting the butter .
But before you start, make shure, that wood you use is dry, because wet wood may do some cracks in it after cutting.
Do your best

Cool works! What type of wood is that? The one I use cracks open after a month or so...

My woodcarves are made of the Walnut on avarage. This wood is my favourite, strong, stabile, full of colours. You can use many types of wood. Better on this job are broad-leaved tree, but you have to let them dry. If you cut a tree, it has much water inside. It takes years to get the wood on the acceptable humidity. But if you cut it on the small pieces and let it dry on the hot air for few months (it depends on the wood you use, on each exist different time of drying)
But the problem of cracks in wood is complicated, itΒ΄s the natural feature. You can only cut the wood on the smaller pieces and it will crack less then in the strong mass. If there are cracks you can only saw them out. Or use the glue (Polyvinylacetate) to connect small pieces together and get one of the good dimensions without cracks to fix your idea.
When you finish your job apply some type of varnish or wax on the surface of the wood, it fills the capillars and close the wood of the air humidity so the wood stop "works" and doesnΒ΄t make any other cracks in it.
It takes hours and hours to talk about this . If you want to ask me something about the woodcarve, or another parts of the woodmworking, it will be pleasure for me to answer.
