# About me

A small part of my life is devoted to my career. Currently I am a PhD student studying Cell and Molecular Biology at UT Austin.

A greater portion of my life is devoted to my variety of hobbies and interests. I absolutely love horseback riding, and rode competitively on the Wellington, FL hunter/jumper circuit for a few years while I was pursuing an undergraduate degree. Unfortunately I had to give up riding and sell my beautiful horse, Prophet, after choosing to go into Biology and obtain a Master's degree in Neurobiology. However, after moving to Austin, TX this past fall, I decided to follow a dream of mine. I had always wanted to own a Gypsy Vanner, and in November 2010 I bought a stunning colt named Rocko who I plan to train myself. Horses have been the largest part of my life, and I believe that will never change.

I have other various hobbies that seem to be quite typical on DA, but are actually not very common in the field I'm in. I love watching anime, reading manga, and cosplaying (I don't get to do this as much as I would like). I also enjoy drawing and photography, although I've only just recently been able to delve into those hobbies again. I also love music, and I love singing. I'm also going to be taking cello lessons starting in April. It has always been a dream of mine to learn the cello, and I will finally be able to make it happen.
