If you want to be mentored via #deviant-mentor, you have to find a mentor by yourself. It does not work the other way around. You choose someone to mentor you, and ask politely.

Hi Krissey - OK, I am sorry for any misunderstanding. Before I joined the DeviantMentor group several weeks ago I selected a potential mentor and sent them a message to enquire if they would be interested in mentoring me. After a week I had heard nothing so I sent another polite message; another week has since passed and I have still had no response. Maybe they are not interested, I don't know. Perhaps they are just not checking their account. Anyway, I wanted to try and find an active mentor. Do I just send more requests to other potential mentors? I thought posting the art might help start a conversation with a potential mentor; sorry if that's against policy.

It's not against the policy, dear. It's just easier to have already have someone who is looking after you. If they do not reply, you can post a notice to the group with the name of the mentor. He/she will be contacted by us, to find out if it is just neglect, or technical issue ar whatever, that they do not answer. But I would recommend to ask some other possible mentors, too. Since this could of course take some time!
