I'm been trying to convince him for a long time to be okay with dA. I've showed him the best art I could find, but he always dismantels it with his logical systems. I think that perhaps his scientific nature makes it impossible for him to appreciate art that does not align to his exact ideals.

Agreed. He's quite the idealist and OCD makes him a perfectionist too. Ah well, at least we can enjoy the beauty to be found in his stead.
