Tiny fun fact by a random Lilac-Clouds member you're certainly seeing the first time in life: INFJs are like the ultimate nerd tier of MBTI! :'D
~ an ENTP

Ooh, cool! I donβt think I know any INFJs.. (but Iβm also terrible at typing people who arenβt myself, and Iβm even second-guessing my own type XD). I am a super nerd though - an INTJ/ISTJΒ

Ah, I've been assuming that - must be my intuition ^^ /s
And yeah, I'm a confessing nerd too, though more of the political, non-conformist ilk. I can be quite pushy when there's the need to :'P
Anyway, great to have you on Lilac-Clouds. As someone without any RP experience yet, this is just twice as exciting!Β
(I'd type you ISTJ by the way, for the mere reason you seem to be a person with a strong sense for traditions. It's this classy, old-school and innocent nerdishness in opposition to the more philosophical and hypothetical stuff NTs are prone to I would see as a reason. You will notice how different ENTPs behave if they are immature - if you read about cognitive functions, you'll see there are some striking differences between these types :'D
I recommend testing your cognitive functions either way. An ISTJ would have Introverted Sensing standing out - my weakest function by the way

Thank you! I've been in a few RPs before, but they've almost all fallen apart after a year or so, so I hope to be in one with more longevity.
Yeah, I'm thinking ISTJ for myself too. I feel like I don't have a lot of Ni, but then again I never really identified with the descriptions of Si-doms. *shrugs* Some things that didn't quite fit with me for the INTJ descriptions (I've tested INTJ 100% of the time, except with functions test which keep telling me I have all introverted functions) were explained by the ISTJ type, and vice versa. I identify with both. I have a really active imagination, and I spend a lot of time in my head, which made me think I couldn't be a sensor, but I might just have well-developed Ne. I do love talking about the abstract and thinking about hypothetical things, though. Like one time, my friends and I had an hour and a half conversation about different theories on life. I understand the difference between the functions, I just find them hard to detect.
Thanks for linking the test. It typed me as ISTJ, but Ni and Ne were really close, and last time I took it I got Ni over Ne. My most standing out function was Te, though, which makes sense since it's extroverted, so that's what people would notice.Β
Honestly, I'm OK with saying I think I'm an INTJ but I might be ISTJ or vice versa, but I DO want to know.Β

I see. After reading your description, you resemble indeed an INTJ with a lifestyle that's characterized by Si. The alternative would be an Ne grip caused by too excessive dominant Si, which would however not result in a more hypothetical view of world but more in a post-apocalyptic behavior full of uncertainity and little control over what you do.Β
The only reason why I'm so sure of ENTP as my own type is because my Ti is quite strong and Fe a function with well control over, with Si being constantly my inferior function with ~25%. The aforementioned cognitive test frequently showed Ni as my dominant function with Ne not far behind, which would make me an INFJ with a pretty weak Fe. Since Fe is the function that shuts down before Ti when I'm stressed, however, my dominant function must be undoubedly Ne.
If you don't mind, we could continue on Discord. I'd be interested in solving this problem too, but I think moving on here would quickly get messy.
