I looked at her,
always over the fence.
She knew how to bend
to water the flowers
under my shirt
and sprinkle the grass.
It's always green around her ankles,
peeking under the toes,
as the daisies giggled at my looks.
I asked her how old
were her lillies.
She smiled and brushed aside
her daffodil hair,
and without a care
walked away.
