Tirupati is a sacred place in India...where i want to go! And i'm a Moon lover....and being Tirupati a sacred place dedicated to that round silvery Goddess i decided to use its powerful meaning, so that this Goddess' sensitivity guides me through my artistic work!

Hi again! Nice to hear about your interest in Tirupati.
Although, I must tell you that some of that information is incorrect. I am Indian by origin and Hindu by religion. Therefore I want to just tell you a little about Tirupati. First off, it is a temple dedicated to the Lord Sri Venkateswara (a male) and is located on the most sacred of seven mountain peaks (called the Venkatachala, or the Venkat hill). The origins of this temple date back to the 3rd and 4th AD although evidence does suggest that the temple existed way before that. More than 50,000 pilgrims visit the temple each day and I remember that it took me upto seven hours to even get to see the main sacred idol of the God because of the large queue, taking into account that we stood in the line from 3 AM.
Photography and film is even forbidden within the premises of the Tirumala, which is the group of mountains where the temple is located, hence, apart from satisfying my staunch, religious Hindu parents and having the mental satisfaction of being in such a reverred place, I got nothing from the straneous trip. So yes, I wouldn't suggest a trip to Tirupati.
Lord Sri Venkateswara is supposedly another avatar (roughly translated, in Hinduism as rebirth) of Lord Vishnu, who, according to my lateral knowledge of Hinduism, has nothing to do with the moon. But, then again, there are so many sub-castes and cultures of Hinduism and each has a different story attached to Lord Vishnu and his powers. I hope this doesn't turn out to be something really boring for you. Do note me if you're interested in any more about these Gods. I will be happy to oblige with information. I hate it when people are misinformed about Hinduism.
