# About me
Name: Ivan BraginskyGender: Male
Species: Giant
Birthdate: December 30th
Height: 60 meters = 200 feet tall
Situation: Ivan has always been a giant; his parents were both giants but he was left alone when he was only small as giant hunters murdered them in the most horrendous way. Since then, he has always tried to stay away from humans, keeping himself to himself. However, he is extremely friendly and will always assist humans if they ask for it.
Appearance: Standing at about 60 or so meters tall, Ivan usually knits himself warm jumpers and makes himself shirts with brown trousers, leather boots, and signature scarf, and his hair is a light, silvery colour, while his eyes are a peculiar shade of violet.
The sky is my limit,
the rocks are at my feet.
I can feel the morning's dew at my toes
and birds fly past my face.
I am a giant, so tall and strong.
But people beat me down anyways
and I am left alone.
I am tall, I am ugly,
and no one will want me.
You think I want to attack and destroy you,
my little friends?
I only want to find children
who will sit on my lap
where I can tell them stories.
I want to be accepted, I want to belong,
but I'm a freak among the small people of your city.
Can you see my softness inside,
that I aren't a horrible monster?

(Heyo~! : D Sorry I haven't been too active on Buran's account as of late, but I will get back to your response as soon as his muse makes a comeback. v u v Probably won't be too long, I love him too much- XD
In the meantime, would you like to try out something with miss Sofija here? I keep imagining her as a giant slayer or something along those lines- XD )

Ivan had no idea he was being followed, too occupied with Β his three day travel to the large lake awarded him with many a good meal, putting his supplies in his sachel. He tried to dry his fish whenever he stopped and made sure nothing went off. He was a peaceful giant, living alone and never bothering anyone. He was friendly and pleasant, always helping those he found needing help. He stopped in the forest, moving into the denser part to get some trees for his fire to cook his fish on. He knelt down and rested for a few moments before leaning forwards and ripping a tree up. A low branch whipped around and hit Sofija in the face, knocking her backwards. Ivan shook the dirt off the roots, clumps of mud and rocks raining all around the huntress. The giant put the tree in his bag before his eyes fell on the woman, a gasp coming from him. "Oh my! I am so sorry!" He reached down, very gently lifting her to her feet. "Oh! You're bleeding! Oh no, this is all my fault... If you like, I'll take you to my home and patch you up? It's the least I can do, miss..."

The trembling earth made her freeze in place, her eyes widening with alarm when suddenly, a large tree beside her was ripped from it's roots in the ground! Shocked and caught off guard, Sofija yelped when a thick branch suddenly struck her in the face, knocking her down and leaving her breathless for a moment. She quickly curled in on herself to try and protect herself from the falling debris, closing her eyes tightly and hoping beyond hope that the giant wouldn't notice her. Unfortunately, she suddenly heard a gasp and a loud voice addressing her, and the huntress knew she had been caught. Just as she was about to dash off into the foliage to hide from view, she flinched when large fingers gently took hold of her, and held her in the air until she gingerly put her feet on the ground, standing with in shocked silence for a moment just looking up at the giant who was speaking to her in a worried manner. This...this was the giant they had sent her after?? It couldn't be, he had to be from another area, he seemed too sweet-natured to be a family kidnapper or killer. But he could always be trying to deceive her, giants and humans were not incapable of that...she reached up a hand to her cheek when he said she was bleeding, grimacing when she felt something sticky on her palm and frowning more when she noticed the large stain of blood that was now on her hand. Apparently that branch had left quite the scratch on her face. Ah, he had even offered to take her to his home, this was the perfect chance to see if this was the giant she had been told about, and be taken right to his house instead of searching around for it aimlessly!
Still though...guilt was starting to churn in her heart, and she found herself hoping that either this wasn't the giant she'd been sent to kill, or that there had been a misunderstanding. She didn't think she'd have the heart to harm someone who offered to tend to her wounds in such a kind manner. "Ah...yes, that would be very kind of you, sir giant." She said with a hesitant smile, patting herself down to clean some of the fallen dirt off of herself, "It was an accident, think nothing of it. Might I know your name though, if I am going to your home?" She asked this out of curiosity, and also for confirmation. The villagers had given her the name of the giant she was sent to hunt, after all...

Ivan was a little surprised when his efforts to help the woman were rewarded with, not screaming as he was used to, but quiet agreement. The Russian giant's eyes sparkled happily as he scooped the girl into his huge, calloused hands, being as gentle as if he were aiming to move a flake of ash without breaking it. Β His voice was a little calmer than before, soft and gentle. "Ivan Braginsky. You don't need formalities, it makes me uncomfortable." He smiled and very carefully slipped her into his breast pocket, smiling. Indeed, this was the same name the villagers had said, their words with much more malice. "I would kiss your hand but I'd take up your while arm, bump my nose on your head and get saliva everywhere... So just pretend to avoid a mess." He straightened up, taking a few more trees in hand before walking towards the mountain. "What can I call you?" He asked, his stride carrying him through the air at alarming speeds, the centrifugal force pushing Sofija backwards into the giant's clothed flesh. Soon enough, they arrived at what seemed to be a jutted out piece of rock in the mountain, not at all out of place. "Don't tell anyone about this, okay? It's a secret." The giant softly chuckled before pushing the rock aside as easily as if it was made of sponge. It must have weighed more than a palace, being just as tall as one, a little higher than Ivan. He stepped into the gaping maw of the cave and turned, sliding the rock back into place, immersing them in darkness.Β

Sofija couldn't help but freeze in fright as the giant's hands came swooping down to pick her up, yelping quietly as she suddenly found herself suddenly lying on flesh rather than the solid earth that was by now far, far below her. No matter how many times she had dealt with giants, being in their grasp was still discomforting and made her uneasy, though she was grateful for how gentle he was being with her, most giants were a little careless with their strength. Then she heard his name, which made her tense up with apprehension when she realized it was the giant she was sent to kill. She hardly made any reaction to being deposited in his pocket, nor Ivan's next few words that rumbled through her now since she was so close to him, the huntress's mind was whirling with thoughts of what exactly she should do next, and whether or not she could actually bring herself to do this task...She only brought herself out of this dark train of thought when she heard him ask for her name, looking up towards where his face would be before tediously climbing up the cloth so she peek out of the pocket, her small brunette head poking out as she steadied herself on the edge of the pocket, and then peering up at him. "I am Sofija Katilius- AH!" She said with a little grin before yelping when she was suddenly flung back into the giant's chest, the speed of Ivan's walking catching her off guard before she grabbed onto the giant's shirt, rather of the brim of the pocket. She had lied about her last name since her true name and role was well known amongst many communities she came across, she didn't want to risk this giant possibly recognizing it and realizing who she was. That would not end well for her... "I am a traveler trying to pass through the mountains, I was looking for a trail when you found me-"
She stopped in mid-sentence when they came to a stop at the wall of the mountain, wondering why Ivan had chose to stop here when he suddenly moved the enormous wall of the mountain to the side, revealing a cave within that was undoubtedly his home. Sofija was silent in awe at the sheer strength this giant had, not saying a word until the two of them were suddenly in pitch black darkness, making the huntress nervous when she couldn't see anything. Her grip on Ivan's shirt tightened in this fear, as she asked in a shaky tone, "Ah...your home is not in the dark, is it Ivan?"

Ivan very softly laughed as he walked deeper into the darkness. "Of course not! I'm not some animal." The giant felt around for a moment before finding what he was looking for, kneeling down and messing around with it. It soon became aparrant he was lighting a fire. It didn't take him long to have a roaring blaze and he used a torch on the wall to spread the flames all around the room to torch brackets. "I haven't been here in a little while so excuse the dust." He turned, the size of the cave becoming apparent. It was huge, everything about it massive. The furniture, the space... Especially the occupant. "Make yourself at home!" He smiled brightly, setting Sofija down by the fire. "I'll make sure you're alright and feed you then I'll take you through the mountains. There are lots of dangerous animals and, as capable of dealing with them as you seem, I would be heartbroken if something were to happen to you."Β
Ivan began to put everything away. He placed entire trees in the fire, put possibly thousands of fish in a barrel of salt, even pulled out a whale from his bag, placing it aide so he could cut it up later. "You should see me swimming. I'm the best at catching fish!" He grinned as he picked up a first aid kit, sitting by the light of the fire and getting out some things to treat the girl's face with. It was the smallest of cuts and, despite bleeding a lot, wasn't serious. "Now, the question is: Do you want a scar so you look tough? Because I have some ointment that prevents scarring. I, personally, think you're beautiful as you are but it's your face, not mine!"

(Let's actually go with your idea, mine's too complicated and one sided. v u v" Sorry-)
She was very close now, after days of following the trail of the giant she had been sent after, Sofija finally believed she was near the entrance of its abode. Giants were thankfully not to hard to find, especially given the size of their footprints and the clear signs of their presence in the environment. It was very hard to hide a giant when everything they did was done to such a large scale. Having left her horse back at her campsite, she tread closer on foot in order to retain silence, alert and wary as she crept through the forest beside the craggy mountain range with her bow and arrow drawn, tipped with a strong numbing poison hunters of her kind often used. Though small and petite in frame and stature, Sofija was in fact a specialized giant hunter who went after giants that were accused of crimes, she had been mastering her skill for many years now and preferred to work alone rather than in a large group. After her own village had been destroyed, her friends and family killed or eaten by a ruthless and angry giant as a child, she swore to have revenge on the beastly giant, and slay any giant who thought they could get away with committing such atrocious acts.
Now years older and far more matured, Sofija preferred to view herself as a specialized bounty hunter rather than just a hunter of giants. She didn't hunt giants for game, only when they had done a heinous crime did she track a giant with the intention to kill. And this giant in particular had supposedly done just that, according to witnesses in the nearby village. An entire family of farmers that lived far in the outskirts of the town, suddenly vanish and their house is smashed to bits, as if having been stomped on by a massive creature. No doubt the work of a giant, and all fingers were pointed at the giant that lived closest to them as a suspect, who else could it have been? So here she was, nearing the end of the trail and coming close to where she believed its home was, when she came to a large clearing in the woods that gave her a clear view of the mountains...only to find nothing there. No cave, no hidden doorway that might hide a cave, nothing that would suggest a giant had carved a home out of the mountains. Stumped and honestly quite confused, Sofija lowered her bow and furrowed her brow, looking at the surrounding mountains and wondering what she had missed. Had the giant not actually come this way? She could have sworn the footprints went this way, but if the trail ended here...then where was the giant?? Suddenly she felt very uneasy, wondering if the giant she was searching for was actually much closer than she thought it was...

(Hi can I rp with you?)
Two girls the age of six, twins, ran through the forest to get away from their insane father. Both of them had dark brown hair yet one sister's hair was a bit wilder than the other and warm dark brown eyes.
Their sense of style was completely different as well.
The one with the wilder, messier hair wore a red skirt and white collared shirt, now covered with dirt from their running. And the other simply wore overalls over a red shirt.

Ask-Dragon-Russia [2014-10-21 22:59:31 +0000 UTC]
The wind howled and shrieked through the stormy night, thunder and rain cascading down onto the mountainous region the Chuvash dragon had been trying to fly through. The weather had been perfectly calm earlier that evening, but it had taken a sudden turn for the worst as now the dragon was practically being tossed all around from the chaotic gales and gusts that were ripping through the air. Buran roared in frustration as he tried to keep himself steady in midair, his wings exhausted and soaked from waging war against the storm itself. He had to find some sort of shelter, now, before he was crashed into a mountain side and got himself killed! It was then that through the haze of the plummeting rain, he spotted an enormous cave that was like a giant crack in the mountain side, looking deep enough to provide him some protection from the elements while he waited to the storm to pass.
With his wings frantically beating against the will of the wind, Buran managed to dive into the cave and out of the rain, crashing in a heap on the craggy floor as he was too tired to make a proper landing. His soaked and battered body trembled as he began to regain his breath, slowly standing on his paws to try and walk further into the cave. The farther he was from the near-hurricane that was happening outside, the happier the dragon would be. He didn't mind that the cave was pitch black the longer he walked, it was very peaceful in comparison to nearly getting struck by lightning a few times. Finally, when he was shrouded by near blackness, Buran shook as much of the rain water off of him, and laid himself on the ground, heaving a great sigh that echoed throughout the silent cave, not worrying about any woodland creature that might hear him. "I hate the rain..." He muttered bitterly to himself,Β still trembling from the chill that was running through his body, "Is so much colder than snow..."

Ivan had crawled into the small cave when it had first begun to storm seeing as A. he couldn't see very well in low light and B. he was tall enough to be struck by lightening. So, deciding to wait it out, he had pushed himself to the very back and decided to wait.Β
This particular giant was very well known to be not very fond of dragons. He was notorious for eating, skinning and wearing them quite frequently and had very hardy dragon skin boots. He was, even by giant standards, enormous in both height and width. The brawny beast terrified everyone in his wake and, though it had its perks, it also meant he had no friends to speak of.Β
Ivan was just drifting off to sleep when a small voice awoke him, making him jump a little. He blinked in the darkness but that did nothing to help him see if there was anyone there. He softly sighed, the noise having no clear source. "I hate rain too..." He mumbled, the noise echoing. "It just makes everything so miserable." The giant decided there was no reason not to be friendly with what or whoever was in there with him. "If you're cold," He took out a bearskin mitten and dropped it on the cave floor, the breeze caused by its impact alerting Buran to its position. "Use that. It's very warm, let me assure you!"

When an unexpected voice actually responded, Buran yelped and scurried backwards a bit, startled that something else was actually in here with him! When it didn't seem as though this was a violent individual, and he heard the landing of an object nearby that the stranger had apparently offered, the Chuvash grew curious and drew closer until he reached the mystery item that had been dropped. With an experimentive sniff, the dragon hesitantly stepped up on top of the furry object, amazed by how large it was. "Wow, is like big, giant blanket!" He said with awe, continuing his little investigation of the stranger's belonging, before he stiffened and looked around in the darkness of the cave, trying to use his sensitive ears and nose to pick out where exactly this other individual was. "Oh...ah, I apologize, I did not realize there was someone else in this cave. Are you taking shelter from the storm too?" He asked, unaware that there was actually a giant sharing this cave with him, one who wasn't always so kind to dragons no less. Being a stranger to these parts though, he had never heard of such a giant, and wasn't the least bit suspicious that this being was hostile in any way.

Ivan smiled gently and shifted his weight a little to sit up, curious about his new conversation partner. "You just get comfortable." He chuckled, perfectly warm in his own clothes made from skins. "Da, I didn't want to be struck by lightening. My hair always stands on end and my teeth feel weird. It's not good at all!" He didn't really wonder what the creature was but was sure he wasn't about to be harmed by it. "You can call me Ivan. So, where were you going before you found this place? Anywhere nice?"

The dragon nestled himself down into the a large blanket of bear fur, sighing contently as he already found himself warming up from the chill of his own damp coat. He was puzzled by this stranger that was taking shelter in the cave with him though, intrigued by who, or what he might be. Not wanting to seem like he was prying though, Buran instead answered Ivan's question, humming a little as he thought to himself. "...Perhaps, I did not make plans on where I am going. I simply wanted to try and find someplace new, that is the exciting part I like best. I hope it is someplace nice I find though, then I could bring a pretty trinket back to my home to remember it by~" The dragon said with a cheery tone, already remembering all the exotic treasures he had managed to find on his nomadic journeys. "Oh, I am called Buran Sapun, mister Ivan! Spasibo for offering this warm blanket, it is as warm as you said it would be~" Buran made sure to thank the kind Ivan for his generosity, before he asked the same question in return. "What about you? Were you going to certain place before this storm appeared?"

Ivan softly smiled. "Well, I was going home. If you like, I could take you once morning comes. It's big and if you want a trinket, you can take your pick from some of my things! It would be a nice adventure." He shifted, the ground shaking as he laid on his side. "I would like having my new friend at my side in my house..." He smiled, yawning a little. "You're the only friend I've ever had..." Ivan softly whispered "Best friend." as he curled up, closing his eyes and smiling. "Tell me your favourite things to do..."Β

A hum of intrigue came from the dragon as he listened to this Ivan describe his home, flopping over on his back and spreading his wings out wide so that his feathery limps would air-dry faster. "Ooo, you'd offer me trinket from your home? That would be nice, then I would be having something to remember our encounter by~!" The Chuvash purred happily at the thought, "I would be having to giving something of equal value in exchange, is only fair after all-" Buran stopped in mid sentence when he felt the ground shake beneath him, and heard a rather large being shifting around in the darkness at the same time...was-was that Ivan?? The dragon grew a little nervous for a second, before he quickly assumed it was a big bolt ofΒ thunder that had struck the mountain above them, even though thunder did not make a sound like that...
At the question though, Buran quickly cheered up and happily continued chatting, tired but happy and energetic at the thought that perhaps he had made a new friend! "Oh, I am liking to do many things! Flying is favorite of all, I am free when I am in sky, da~? Oh, and visiting human cities! They are always coming up with new things to see and try, you are just needing to make sure you blend in and not spook them~! Spooked humans are not fun to be dealing with. Ooo, another thing that I love to do..."
The dragon continued chatting on and on about various activities he liked doing, from carving jewels to playing his balalaika, and all the little details that went along with them, until he eventually tuckered himself out. He hardly noticed he had been slowly falling asleep, until Buran finally grew quiet and all that could be heard from the dragon were his quiet snores, and his shifting body as he spread himself out all over the mitten like a cat on a fleece blanket. Though most would not feel so safe in this pitch black cave in the mountains, the dragon felt quite content when there was such a kind fellow in the cave along with him.

Ivan softly chuckled when he heard the snores, anxious to find out exactly what the little thing was since he mentioned flying. He very gently slipped a hand under the glove and crawled to the mouth of the cave, placing the glove on the other side of it and curling up on his side. "Goodnight, friend." He whispered as he curled up to sleep, thankfully not snoring or he would cause a cave in.Β
Ivan slept on through sunrise and the dawn chorus, not stirring in the slightest. He looked so peaceful, curled with his knees to his chest and his hands by his face.Β

When the dragon heard the singing of morning birds outside the cave, the light sleeper yawned and slowly stretched out all of his limps, smacking his lips as he looked around him curiously. What was he doing so close to the cave entrance, had he been mistaken in thinking he had fallen asleep in the depths of the cave? "...Storm is gone..." He mumbled sleepily to himself, looking towards the entrance that was ablaze with the morning light, "Air smells so nice now~" Beginning to feel revitalized by the light and the fresh air, the dragon rose to his feet and looked around him, feeling very relaxed and refre-
He froze. Everything suddenly became icy cold, when Buran found a terrifying being sleeping soundly not too far from him. A creature he feared greatly from many unfortunate encounters in the past, an enormous giant. Buran could not help the terrified yell that escaped from him, the Chuvash hurriedly shifting into his smaller human form out of fear and scrambling away until he hit the cave walls, bashing against the rock and clinging to it's face as he froze in place, watching the giant with wide eyes and trembling wings. How long had this giant been here, and why was it sleeping?? He had fallen asleep with a fellow named Ivan, not-
Slowly, a realization dawned upon the Chuvash, though it only made him feel worse as a sense of dread settled into his stomach. "I...Ivan-??" He hesitantly asked, almost not wanting to believe this giant was the kindly Ivan he had been chatting with last night. It couldn't have been, Buran had never come across a giant that had been friendly...then again, he'd only encountered one or two, and both of those had been when he was a much younger dragon.

Ivan yawned widely, his mouth a gaping cavern. He rolled onto his back and stretched out his arms and legs, his hands touching a tree that was far from the mouth of the cave. "Mmmh... It's so warm today..." He smiled, staying flat on his back. He peeked to the side at the little thing which he had slept alongside. "You look surprised..." He mumbled with a grin before crawling out of the cave, sitting in the sun. "Come on then, little Buran. We can go to my home." He fiddled with the laces on his leather boots. Dragon leather boots. It was then that it was clear which species this giant hated. His other large, bearskin mitten had a patch of cream fur on the palm which could only be Chuvash fur. He reached in to get his other mitten, a dragon skull tied around his neck falling from his shirt. "It's so nice to have a little friend!"

The more Ivan moved about, the more Buran began to panic, watching as the giant stretched out his mountainous body with horror and clinging more to the rock face behind him, his mouth agape and his pupils mere dots as Ivan looked over to him, only to smile happily at the terrified human-dragon cowering away from him. The disguised Chuvash did not move a muscle as the giant crawled past him, almost trying to disappear into the wall until he caught sight of the dragon leather boots the giant was wearing. How could he tell it was dragon? the first clue was the faint smell that still lingered on them even after being skinned and stripped, dragons had a very unique scent that made them easy to find for other dragons (Buran hoped the giant did not smell his Chuvash scent-). This realization that many, many dragons would have been killed to make those pair of boots, was the last straw for Buran. The giant hunted, killed, and wore dragons on him, the thought making the Chuvash slip further into the cave, his eyes fixated on Ivan's boots. "A-Actually- Ivan, I-I do not feel so well, I think it may be b-best if I did not go to house right now. Y-you go on a-ahead, I will rest b-bit longer-" He managed to stutter out, his eyes glancing between Ivan's boots and his face (catching sight of the dragon skull, which made him feel genuinely ill-). "Why...why are boots made from dra-dr...dragons?" He asked quietly, his tone frightened and sad, before he looked over to the mitten he had slept on, eyes widening with horror when he saw a patch of his own fur resting there! It didn't seem as though Ivan knew he was a dragon, that bit of fur could give everything away! Buran suddenly dashed for the mitten, leaping on top of it and snatching up his fur to hide from sight, looking around to see if there as anymore where he had slept. He was about to flee back into the cave, but his attention was away from Ivan for this brief moment. The human dragon was now in full light, his broad feathered wings stretched a little around his figure, while his floofed-up tail flicked about behind him, hinting at his frazzled state of mind.

Ivan tilted his head slightly. "Come now, little one. We are friends, are we not? My home is your home and you can rest up there." His huge hand rocketed forwards, just missing as Buran leapt to cover up the patch of fur on the mitten. Ivan laughed and assumed he was playing a little game, slipping the mitten on and curling his fingers around the little dragon. There was no escape now as the giant brought Buran to his face, nuzzling him gently. "Hm? Oh, I have a bad history with dragons. I hate the things. So monstrous and disgusting." He made a face and shuddered a little. "So I kill them on sight. And get paid to do it a lot of the time. Handy, da?" He smiled as he stood to his full height, impossibly huge. He could smell the Chuvash's fear but he didn't realise it was because he was a dragon. "Do not fear. I don't kill angel friends!" He smiled, stroking Buran's wings and beginning to walk, his strides making his speed at around 100mph. Trees whizzed past his shins, a lot of them meeting a splintering fate under his soles. "I don't know why you're so scared. Yes, I am giant but I was company through the night and did not harm you once." He roughly petted his friend. "We can discuss it all over dinner."

The dragon's fear grew ten-fold when he suddenly felt the bear-skin underneath him move about, knowing the giant was putting his hand inside and was about to capture him. Buran tried to leap off of the mitten, but by then it was too late, the massive fingers already closing around him and trapping the terrified Chuvash in the giant's grasp. As he felt himself being lifted into the air, he fell to his knees as despair filled his heart, believing he was going to be eaten or killed by this giant once his identity was found out. He was almost on the verge of tears when Ivan nuzzled him (the closeness of such an enormous face sending Buran into a frenzy of shivers-), and nearly fainted from fright when he got an answer to his question; the giant detested dragons. He killed them on first sight, and even got paid for it! The killing of his kind! Buran practically wilted at this news, knowing he was done for, unless he could escape from this situation without the giant realizing what he was. Though when he heard what Ivan had called him, and felt enormous fingers stroking his wings, he slowly looked back at Ivan's face, eyes wide with surprise. "A-an angel??" He sputtered out, not knowing angels actually existed before he quickly tried to cover up his question, "Ah, I mean- Of course you don't! You hunt d-dragons, not harmless little angels, d-da?" He didn't care what the giant believed him to be, he could be called anything and be fine with it at this point; as long as Ivan didn't find out he was a dragon. "I-I apologize for being st-startled, I have never...never seen a giant before! I was not expecting you to be so..." Hearing the snapping of trees underneath them, and the wind pulling at them from how fast the giant was traveling, he hesitantly tried to peer over the fingers at the ground far below, gulping a little as he rubbed his aching horns (Ivan's petting was very rough-) and lied as best as he could, "...so b-big..."

Ivan softly chuckled. "I have that effect on people." He was liking this 'angel' more and more, finding his nerves adorable. "That's why I find it so hard to make friends! Everyone runs when they see me. But you didn't see me until we were friends and now I feel happier than I ever have!" He held the poor dragon closer to his chest and made sure his wings were safe. His mind began to wander as he walked, thinking back to when he first encountered a dragon. This flashback was not unfamiliar to him at all. He saw it in the back of his mind every time he saw a dragon. Fire and screams and burning bodies. The smell of seared flesh and the blackened skin of his sister. Laughter from above and mocking words. His papa's sword and a severed dragon's head at his feet. The loss of his four family members before he even turned eight.Β
Ivan shook himself from his memories and frowned a little, grasping his friend for comfort. "...I'm afraid the house is probably a mess." He mumbled as he climbed high into the mountains, soon arriving at a to warring castle fit for the king of giants. "I built it myself! After my first house burnt down I decided that stone was the best way to go." He unlocked the door and stepped inside, the entranceway alone bigger than the cave in which they had slept. He took off his boots and hung up his coat, placing Buran on his head as he took off his mittens. He then picked up a letter that had been posted through his letter slot and read it. "Bla bla bla... Dragon problem bla... Spying on locals bla... Stealing deer game bla...Mammoth Chuvash kind? Ooh, interesting. I'll see to this later on!" He pinned the letter onto a cork board, not knowing the high ransome was for the poor creature perched on his head.Β
((Plot twist!))

(Oooooh no- XD Buran has a ransome on him-)
Buran heaved a sigh when it seemed as though the terrifying Ivan holding him wouldn't find out about his dragon identity anytime soon, hardly being able to listen when his own thoughts were darting around in his head like speeding bullets. Though he did manage to make out how Ivan had a hard time making friends when everyone ran away from him, something the dragon could easily relate with and sympathize with. Funny, if there hadn't been such tense relations between dragons and giants these days, Buran wouldn't have minded being Ivan's friend, but he was so wracked with fear at the thought of what Ivan might do, should he find out his true identity. 'I do not think we will be friends when you realize I am not 'angel'...' He thought mournfully to himself, flinching violently when he was brought closer to Ivan's chest, a moment of silence passing between them as Ivan sped across the land at alarming speeds. Much like the dragon's own heart, which hadn't ceased in its racing since Buran's first fright that very morning. Would he ever be able to feel at ease, anytime soon? Not as long as he felt death looming over him constantly, that figure being the oblivious Ivan at the moment....
Buran saw the giant's home long far off in the distance, his mind growing blank and his mouth opening in shock and awe as he began to realize Ivan had built himself an enormous castle. Everything about Ivan, from his statue to the place he called home, was overwhelming big! The dragon couldn't fathom how he managed to put this all together, but it was an impressive feat none the less! Only when they stepped inside and the door closed behind them, did Buran realize this was more of a prison than a house to him right now. He yelped a little as he was placed on Ivan's head, instantly sitting down and wrapping his arms around his legs, making himself as small as possible so that he wasn't touching as much of the giant underneath him. However, when he heard Ivan reading out loud about a 'dragon problem', he tensed and rushed forward, leaning over so far from Ivan's head to read the contents of the letter that he had to hold onto some of Ivan's bangs to stay on his head. "T-there's a ransome for a Mammoth C-Chuvash??" Buran's eyes widened with horror, his chest clenching up and making it hard to speak or breath. "A-ah...M-Mammoth Chuvash dragons are very rare these days, da~? Perhaps you do not need to be killing it-" Buran couldn't help but gulp when he saw exactly how much someone was paying to see this dragon dead, fear piercing through his every fiber as he knew he had to flee from these lands as soon as possible. Paranoid humans, he hadn't been spying on anyone! And deer herds didn't belong to anyone, at least he hadn't been taking lifestock as some dragons might do! Beginning to feel angry and wrongly persecuted, the 'angel' growled a little under his breath and glared at the parchment as it was put away, before turning away and growing silent.

Ivan looked up at the dragon, his forehead crinkling. "Well, business is business. It's not like I need the money but it's what I'm best at." He walked to the living room, letting Buran sit on the sofa and beginning to stoke the fire. Above the mantel was a mounted dragon's head, the huge beast in a snarl even after death, it's teeth bared and it glass eyes sparkling in the firelight. "I've never met a mean Chuvash though. I've met around seven in my lifetime and they're pretty nice until they find out I'm going to kill them." He sat beside the dragon, yawning a little and smiling. He looked down at his friend, reaching for him and gently patting his head. "You're far too cute. Come fly up here and tell me about where you live. You know where I live so I want to hear about you!" He cooed cheerfully, wanting to be as friendly as he possibly could. His little friend was still too scared and he wanted him to be comfortable around him. "Do not be scared. You are my friend and I promise not to hurt you no matter what!"

Ivan's words made the dragon's heart sink into a bout of sadness, his fluffy ears and wings wilting as he sat back down with a quiet sigh. "...da, business." He mumbled in response, having had a similar conversation with a human that hunted dragons for a living, who was drunk at a bar and didn't notice the disguised Chuvash listening to his woes. The killing of dragons had become more popular as of late, Chuvashes were sought after for their luxuriously soft and warm coat of fur, and he had come across a few 'Chuvash Capes' on his travels, a product that horrified and made the dragon sick to his stomach. He prayed to the gods that Ivan did not have anything like that lying around his home...Buran couldn't be certain he could hold back the mournful tears, already depressed when he heard that Ivan had already killed seven other Chuvashes in his line of work. Buran had gotten so absorbed in his thoughts, that he almost jumped in surprise when he found he was on a gigantic sofa in the giant's living room, his eyes instantly being drawn to the giant of a dragon's head that was mounted above the fireplace. Goodness...Buran hadn't known that there were dragons of that size somewhere in the world! He flinched when he felt another pat on the head, hurriedly turning his head to look up at the cheery giant, not responding to his request at first and looking very hesitant to talk...but eventually Buran looked behind him and leapt up onto the cloth of the sofa, scaling it easily until he was at the top of the couch, about shoulder level with the giant who sat beside him.
"Well...my home is very cold all of time, we have lots and lots of blizzards that come through our mountains. I do not live in castle like...this." Buran began, his voice soft as he looked around them at Ivan's home, the size of it all still overwhelming to him. "I live in cave I carved out myself, but is very well lit and decorated in rooms. I even managed to put together kitchen to use, stove and all. Kitchen is warmest room of all..." The dragon slowly closed his eyes out of contentment, a little smile gracing his features as he imagined himself back home in his cave, safe and sound. "My cave is at tippy top of mountain, so that humans and other creatures cannot get to me so easily without my help. Is a very cozy place, protected by the mountain from the cold and the weather. I miss it sometimes, especially on long trips like this..." His smile left his expression though, and Buran grew downcast at the thought that he might not ever see home again. He might be killed by the angry humans here, or Ivan himself, the dragon still believing that despite Ivan's reassurances, the giant would end up killing him if he revealed his true form. He hated dragons so much, and even made a living killing dragons, surely he would hate him too...That thought only made him more sad. He didn't want Ivan to hate him, but the dragon couldn't help being what he was, there was nothing he could do. Besides hide in this human form and hope for the best.

Ivan smiled gently as he listened to the little angel, imagining what he was told with a grin. "It all sounds so pretty..." He mumbled in an awed tone. "I will have to visit some time." He stretched out, resting his chin on the back of the sofa so he could see his little friend better. "You seem so sad still..." His huge fingers crept upwards and very gently tugged playfully on the dragon's tail, stroking the fur. "Is it because I didn't tell you what I was in the cave? I'm sorry... I should have been honest with you. You didn't ask though..." He smiled and leant forwards, brushing the tip of his nose to Buran's cheek. "You're my friend though. We have to stick together! I know what you said about being tired was to get away from me. But I'm nice! I will love you no matter what." He whispered, his breath hot, blowing the dragon's hair back off his face. He inhaled softly through his nose and stopped a moment. He pressed his nose closer to Buran and inhaled deeply, sniffing him curiously. "...You haven't been near any dragons recently, have you?" He asked, becoming a little concerned as he smelled the faint scent of dragons on his friend. His brow suddenly furrowed. "I know what's going on here..." Buran obviously had a dragon friend. That's why he was so nervous! He was wanting to protect his friend from Ivan. He must have been the Chuvash he didn't want Ivan to kill. Oh, that explained everything!

The melancholy Buran merely gave a side glance to the giant beside him, his eyes speaking volumes about the emotions he was feeling, before he slowly lowered his gaze towards his hands, feeling rather hopeless in this whole situation. He didn't even react too much when he felt the giant tug a little at his sensitive tail, his tail pulling back from the tug but unable to free itself from Ivan's infinitely stronger grasp. Buran did shake his head in response to the question Ivan posed, not wanting the giant to think he was upset about Ivan failing to mention how he was a giant...he was more saddened by the fact that he himself had to hide almost everything from Ivan in order to feel safe. He didn't like lying...but he felt this was necessary for his survival. When the giant came so close as to touch his cheek with the tip of his nose, Buran at first flinched away from the touch...before he looked up at Ivan with such a lonely expression, and instead slowly leaned into the giant's nose, even hugging it a little when he began to feel so utterly alone in a world pitted against him. Even if Ivan was a dragon hunter, and hated dragons with a passion, when he was talking so kindly about how they were friends and would stick together, and loving him no matter what, Buran couldn't help wish to think what were so. He wanted Ivan to be his friend too.
When Ivan started sniffing him though, a stab of icy fear drove through Buran's chest, waking him from his bout of loneliness. Ivan's question only sent him further into this terror, knowing the giant's sensitive nose had picked up his Chuvash scent. "Ah-" He sputtered, abruptly scooting away the nose that was about to catch him red-handed, "D-da! I have actually, I pass by quite a few when flying long distances. They are liking to fly way high up in clouds, da?" He quickly said, half-telling the truth as he would pass by dragons now and then that were migrating long distances. But that was skirting around the part he wanted to hide from the other so desperately. When he saw the giant's furrowed brow though, the icy chill that had been clenching up his chest spread throughout the rest of his body, almost paralyzing him when he thought Ivan had realized the truth. "Wh-wha...what is going on....?" He asked in a hushed tone, looking like a cornered animal about to flee from a wolf. Had the giant realized he was a dragon...?

Ivan sat back, his brows still furrowed. "I know exactly what's going on. You have a dragon friend, don't you?" He shook his head and looked away from the angel, sighing. "I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. Dragons have been very cruel to me in the past. Do not worry, you are my friend and he is yours. I wouldn't say he is my friend but I won't hurt him." He offered Buran a small smile and sighed, laying back and stretching out the length of the sofa. He seemed awfully dejected at the thought that he'd made his little friend upset. He covered his eyes with his arm and stopped moving after that, frowning. "...You're not upset with me, are you?" He asked in the voice of a lost little boy. "I don't want you to be angry with me. You're my only friend. I-I can't lose you..." He whispered, feeling as if an anvil was pressing down on his chest. Was Buran going to leave him forever? Oh god please no...

Buran was quiet for a long moment, the fear slowly leaving him when he repeated Ivan's question in his head. A...dragon friend? Is that what Ivan thought the scent was from? A shaky sigh left him as he collapsed on his back from relief, feeling infinitely better now that he knew his cover had not been blown. He could work with this, it'd be fine- Ivan wasn't angry with him, that was the important part. Hearing the sorrowful tone Ivan started to speak with though, the dragon raised his head and found the giant laying out along the couch below him, looking very distressed and upset, covering his face with an arm. The sight pulled at Buran's heart, knowing his reactions had been the cause of this...so after he collected his nerves, he put on a little, gentle smile on his face and crept along the top of the couch, until he was above Ivan's head peering down at him. "...I am not angry with you, Ivan." He started, speaking up with a more confident tone, reassured and not as fearful as before. "I was scared of how you would react if you found out I...sympathized with dragons. I know you are having your reasons for disliking them, that is fine...not many people like dragons these days..." Buran said the last part quietly and sadly, his chest clenching when he recalled all the faces that looked upon him with disgust, anger, or fear when seeing his true form, even when he hadn't done anything to harm or threaten them. "Spasibo for saying you will not hurt my friend though, I have known him for very long time, we are very close. That makes me feel lots better, da?" The dragon was referring to himself as this 'dragon friend', and was very grateful for Ivan's reassurance on that part. Of course, that didn't mean Ivan wouldn't harm him if he found out Buran had been deceiving him a little, but it still made the dragon feel more at ease.

(I've been feeling really inspired to use my Beast King!Buran AU, but in the rp I have in mind, he would be a very young king, becoming the new king just after his father was assassinated.
So here's the idea...Other dragon clans in the kingdom are rising up in rebellion to try and stake their claim in the throne, the old king being dead now, which would make Buran their prime target to attack and kill. His family then, wanting their youngest to be protected while they fight for the throne, seeks out a creature who would be able to guard the young king from extremely hostile rebels...in this case, it happens to be Ivan they try to find~
I'll leave the details of Ivan's side for you, and also what version of him you'd like to use~ And we don't need to do it if it doesn't really interest you, I just thought I'd tell you the idea that struck me yesterday~ : D)

"We are nearly there, just a little longer my king." Said the armored-clad Chuvash flying at the head of small group, all the dragons wearing some form of protection except for the youngest in the center. After traveling non-stop across the forested terrain of their kingdom, the newly crowned Buran was huffing and struggling to keep up with his older soldiers and family, barely hearing the captain's words over the whistling wind as they flew closer to the mountains. This was their destination, the lair of a creature so massive and terrifying to the locals of the mountains, that the royal council thought it would be the perfect place to hide away their new king. War was about to begin between the dragon clans for the crown, and Buran was far too young to take part in the battle; it was better an idea to instead find a creature who could guard the new king instead, and ensure his survival through the turmoil.
The group of Chuvashes reached the towering, craggy mountains, flying up and over their rocky peaks to search for the clearing where this giant supposedly lived. This would be the first time the royal dragons reached out to this being for help, it was rare for the Chuvashes to ever come this distance unless it was a truly dire situation. Because of this, the soldiers had no idea where this creature they were searching for might be... The captain, knowing his young king was tired and needed rest, directed the crew to land on one of the cliffs that overlooked the mountains, Buran collapsing to the ground in relief as the lead Chuvash strode to the tip of the cliff to survey their surroundings. Silent for a moment, the captain Chuvash then let out a tremendous roar that echoed through the quiet mountains, shouting in an authoritative voice afterwards, "Giant! Come forth! The royal family summons thee, come before us now!" Once the captain went quiet, the company of dragons waited anxiously for a possible response to the call, uncertain what to expect. Buran, the most nervous out of all of them, huddled behind one of his family members that had come to keep him company, dreading what might emerge from the mountains as his guardian.

The towering mountains were only visited by the brave or by fools as everyone knew that if you didn't die of starving while lost or from exposure, you would most likely be eaten. Due to this fact, Ivan was most surprised when he heard a summons from outside; he stopped sharpening his axe and stood, lowering his visor and shouldering the weapon. His armour was made from thick, dented earth metals, dirty and well used yet as good as new still. It was on his back and breast then his arms. His legs were covered by a thick cloth which not even arrows could penetrate, his feet clad with boots which could decimate villages. To finish off his clearly intimidating look, his visor was made from the skull of some kind of long dead species of giant deer, the underside reinforced with metal. It seemed this was mostly for keeping things like arrows and spears away from his eyes.Β
The footsteps were quiet at first but, with each second, they doubled in volume and movement until the thunderous noise was coupled with the pebbles on the ground jumping a foot in the air. Suddenly, a hand appeared between two walls of rock, an arm, a shoulder and a head soon following as Ivan pushed through a gap in the rocks. His eyes fell on the crowd of dragons, his expression, though hidden, turning to one of impatience. "Oh, whoopee..." His voice alone was enough to scare a lion away with a whisper. "And to what do I owe this displeasure? I've already been approached by three clans. I do not fight for anybody. I should have it engraved. 'No trespassing to ask Ivan to win your battles. All trespassers will be lunch.'" He hoped this would scare the pesky things away, lifting his axe from his shoulder and setting the top on the floor so he could lean on the handle, the blade twice taller than the tallest Chuvash.Β

When the footsteps were heard, every Chuvash in the company froze, some growing antsy and looking around to see if they could find the approaching giant. Buran could only whimper and huddle closer to his relative as the sound grew thunderousΒ and shook them all like an earthquake, his sympathetic sibling placing a protective wing over the small dragon in an effort to comfort him. When the towering giant at last revealed himself, the intimidating garment he wore caused a few of the dragon soldiers to gasp and back away, but the stoic captain remained in his place, determined not to show fear. Even when the giant placed his blade on the cliff where the dragons were standing. "We did not come to request your assistance in battle, giant." He said calmly in response to the giant's ominous, less than excited tone, some of the Chuvashes murmuring amongst themselves at the news that other dragons had already approached the giant. "This is an affair that only involves us dragons, we would not involve other races of this kingdom. However, there is a great favor we still must ask of you..." Once he said this, the captain took a step back and turned towards the two members of the royal family, his voice softening as he addressed the young king. "Your highness, please come forward."
The young Buran had watched the whole scene while keeping close to his sibling, but when the captain addressed him, the young king felt his insides freeze from terror. He had to go up there, in plain sight of the masked giant?? His elder sibling nudged him forward to spur him to walk, the small Chuvash glancing up at his sibling with wide frightened eyes, before gulping and hesitantly beginning to take small steps towards the captain, keeping his gaze down so that he was not looking at the scary giant. When he was close enough, the captain Chuvash gently placed a paw on young king's back, to reassure him as he turned his focus back to the giant. "Our king has been assassinated, and this young dragon here is to take the throne in his place, once he is of age. However, because he is so young, we do not wish to send him to battle, where he could easily be slain by our enemies. We had hoped, that with a suitable reward, you would be willing to act as a guard for our young king as we fight for his family's right to the throne." As the captain explained their true reason for coming here, Buran shyly raised his gaze to look at the foreboding giant's mask, his little figure trembling as the young king tried to keep calm through his rampant fears.

Ivan, however annoyed, patiently listened to the dragon, crouching to see them better. Once the Chuvash king was presented, the giant pushed up his visor to reveal his round face, his pale skin covered in nicks and scars, his violet eyes focusing. "Hmm... Okay, you have a deal. I'll keep him safe and you give me..." He thought for a moment. "...A new visor of my design, a broadsword, ability to pass through your kingdom without attack and I have a sack. Fill it with gold. Do that and I will protect him with my life for as long as you wish." He sat down, his behind making the ground shake with its impact. He placed his axe down and kept his gaze locked on Buran. "I'll start now. Come on, your majesty. Hopefully you won't annoy me..."

Buran, already spooked about this whole situation he had no control over, shakily took a step towards the giant when he was told to come to him, but the little king suddenly jerked around and clung to the captain, tears building at his eyes as he said in a quiet, sorrowful voice, "D-don't let mama, or anyone else die...I-I want to see you all again-" Buran was on the verge of tears, the young dragon apparently not yet quite over the loss of his father, he was afraid he was going to lose everyone else he loved and cared for to this war. The captain, briefly glancing up to the giant, rubbed the young distraught king's back comfortingly, speaking softly to him, "I will do my best. We shall send someone to check on you now and then. But in the meantime, you must promise me you will be safe, and stay with this giant. Do you understand?" Buran nodded a little, trying to brush away the tears in his eyes as the captain Chuvash nudged him towards the waiting giant. "Go on."
Knowing this was for the best, Buran finally began to walk forward towards the sitting giant, his eyes still on the ground for he was too nervous to look high up at that scarred face he had seen. When he was fairly close to his new, foreboding guard, he turned to look back at the company of Chuvashes who were watching him and the giant carefully, as if making sure this stranger didn't try anything to harm their helpless king. "We shall have your payment ready for you in time, though the gold will require some patience on your part. As of now, you have the permission of the royal family to pass through our kingdom as you please, as long as you respect our laws as all citizens do." The captain said to the giant, agreeing to the terms and requests that had been made, his expression stoic as he backed away to converse with the rest of the Chuvashes, waiting to be given the sack that the giant had mentioned. Buran remained closer to the giant, silent and clearly nervous around this gigantic being he was to live with now.

Ivan sighed impatiently, rolling his eyes at the whimpers of the dragon. He then picked Buran up, putting the small dragon on his shoulder. He then slowly stood, giving several sideways glances to the king. "I will have my design and sack when you send someone to check I haven't eaten him." He gave them a curt nod and gave Buran another glance. "I'll see you the. Pleasure doing business with you..." He then put his visor down, putting his axe over his other shoulder and turning, walking back into the depths of the mountain maze.Β
"You're not a king with me." Ivan grumbled. "Just another dragon. I have rules. You do what I say, you stay within sight and you don't flap in my face. If anything comes for you, you yell or fly to me. I really need that gold." He soon came to a huge curtain of ivy and swept it aside, walking behind it. Once in the huge cave, he kept walking, going down a passageway before coming to a junction. He took a left and continued until reaching a large room, a fire in the centre. There were lots of different things that one would normally find around a home but much larger. Ivan put Buran on a desk before taking off his armour, leaving himself in simple clothes. He looked much less intimidating like this but still seemed pissed off at most things. He sat himself down and grabbed some paper and began thinking of his mask. He thought a whole helmet redesign could be best and began to sketch, completely ignoring the small dragon by his page until he had a question. "...So... Is this just for the war? If it proves itself to he interesting, I might wish permanent employment. Believe me, there are no giants who would dare challenge me. I could crush a village flat in ten paces..." He looked at the dragon. "I know only one species of dragon that I wouldn't be able to defeat but we're miles from the coast..."

When Buran was plucked from the ground, the dragon yelped and wobbled about unsteadily as he was placed on the giant's shoulder, before he laid down flat and clung to the cloth beneath him. He wasn't used to being on an unsteady surface, but the little dragon didn't complain; it was likely he would have to get used to this. As the giant bid the Chuvash company farewell, and stood to his full height to leave, Buran turned his head around to sadly watch as everything he was familiar with eventually vanished behind the stone walls of the craggy mountains, leaving him alone in the company of a giant who didn't seem all that fond of strangers.
When the giant addressed him, Buran flinched away nervously, but nodded his head to everything the giant stated as a rule. He knew he was no king to this being, he was a guest, and it would be best to be as cooperative as possible so that this giant wouldn't see him as a too much of a nuisance. He was about to respond, when they entered into an enormous cave, the dragon growing silent and gazing upwards and all around with great curiosity. This made the young king wonder what kind of home this giant had, was it sparse and empty because of how large he was? That question was soon answered when the giant strode into a massive, lit room that was quite furnished and accommodating of the giant's enormous size. This amazed the young king even more than the cave, wondering if the giant had made those himself. He must be a very creative individual then, despite his brutish armor. "Oh...da, the council plans on retrieving me once things settle, they will have time to teach me how to fight then. If you wish for permanent employment, I'm sure we could arrange something. But we...I would not be wanting to take up your time, when you may have other things to tend to." Buran answered the giant as he watched his pencil streak across the large sheet of paper, wondering what the giant was drawing. "I...I know this is probably inconvenient for you, Mr. Giant, I apologize for that..." The little dragon's figure seemed to wilt as he glanced high up to the giant's face with an apologetic frown. "I will make certain your requests are met quickly when I return to the castle, it is the least I can do in return for your time."

Ivan made sure to clearly annotate the diagram so it could be made to his exact specifications. He went for a cross between a medieval and Viking type helmet, finishing quite quickly and rolling up the parchment so he could focus his piercing eyes on the small dragon. He clasped his hands together and peered at the Chuvash. "I wouldn't say inconvenience so much as small annoyance. I find you creatures petty and stupidly egotistical. But, that's how you are and I'm not one to tell you how to live." He slowly stood up, the chair beneath him sighing with relief as the huge mass of flesh moved to the centre of the cave and stoked the fire ready to cook. He took some cattle and put them on a spit, putting them over the flames. "I could teach you to fight. I have plenty of time on my hands. It's not as if I have much to do..." He shrugged a little. "Then maybe you can defend yourself when I'm not around..."
