Hi UKIntel,
I'm a N00b with (legit) Windows Style Builder. Got sick of struggling with ResHack and my good ole Restorator '07 so thought I'd get the real thing. Some Questions that need answers please.
How do I go about applying a stylehack in WSB? Do I need to be navigated into the actual key I want to apply it to ? Or can I apply say, a Start Menu stylehack while I'm looking at a say, Explorer text input setting ?
Two more Q's. Can I colour the Start Menu "white area" that is All Programs ? I've done the rest but that is still white. Can you recommend/have you done a good Tut for WSB ?
Soz for all the Q's, but if you don't ask, you don't get!! I've hacked XP to my hearts (and others) content but erffing about with Win7 is new to me!!

But i got a big problem: in all styles i've seen until now the background of "all programs" is allways white.
Any chance to change that ?

Hey IΒ΄ve been following your work from winmatrix forums and since I installed Vista recently I would like to create a theme for it.
Can you provide a link to the default vista theme you mentioned there (in winmatrix forums) or maybe a little description about how can I "extract" the default theme from my own system to be able to work on it to customize it?

If I got what you ment, you can open a .msstyles file with Restorator. Once you opened it, edit what you want, ten resave it. Restorator isn't free though, but you can use it for free for about a week I think.

Hello...love your Vista Themes...one question...is there going to be a fix for the wmploc.dll? The WMP had an updated dll of v11.0.6000.6344. I didn't know this, as I tried to start my WMP after copying the version you have with your themes...and the player was looking for the updated one. Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere. hey, i see u guys are good at reshack and hex editing yes? im working on a new vs and im gonn have lotsa dark grey color, most parts i found out myself and they are working correctly most of it.. but still i have a cupple of things i need to change. its som black text that needs to be lighter and i rly cant find out where the hex code is. its the "3D objects" text color and the "menu" aktiv text color! i allways have to manually go into the color settings of the theme and do it myself so its rly annoying. heres a screenshot of what i want to change [link]
so hope u can help me or tell me if there is someone u know.. would help so much on the going on my new release.

I just bought a new pc with Vista Home premium. I have an Athlon 6000, 3 gigs ram and radeon 2400 256 hd.
I have a problem with the cursors, too. I hate them. They look like 1985.
I like a set of starcraft cursors, but I have to change them all one by one.
Are you thinking to create some 21st century cursors?

instead of replacing uxtheme.dll, just download VistaGlazz and run it. that program will patch your computer so that you can use non-microsoft based themes for vista. when u run vistaglazz. its important that u patch the system files first (its the computer icon when u run the program)

unfortunately it is not easy.
you can change via hex edit the whole white color to a different color but not (for now) putting a background picture .
Hope Uk Intel found a solution for it.
