Q. Why is your avatar a man if you are a woman?
A. That is Prophane, He is my longest serving RP Character and star of one of my on the side stories, he has been my a.ka. for years.
Q. Why do you write Yaoi and Slash?
A. Because i have found over the years that my talent is NOT for writing het romances, I just happen to be poor at it so i stick to what i am good at.
Q. Why do you write OC's into some fanfics?
A. Because when i come up with an idea and there is is no Canon that comes to mind to use my head fills in the gap with an OC. I am an RPer I have character designs coming out of my ears.
Q. Aren't your OC's just self-inserts?
A. Nope. For one they are the wrong gender, for another they act in ways I myself would not act and never will. Trust me if i was capable of writing het I would be boinking half the fellowship of the ring and even then I wouldn't post that trash.
A defense of OC Fanfic's
When say that this is a defense I do not mean that I am defending Mary-sue/Gary-stu fan-fictions that are badly written and make little to no sense. I HATE Mary-sue/Gary-stu's with a passion and a friend of mine actually have a fun came called "Build a sue/stu" which provides us hours of entertainment.
What I am defending are stories written by good writers with brains and the ability to make their OC have a personality and flaws. Not create someone like Miss Rainbow moonshine Rosepettal Lovedance the sugar fairy who saves middle earth by destroying the One Ring, leads every hot man by the nose and ends up marrying Aragorn because Arwen realizes she could never compete with those rainbow eyes and floor length gossamer strands! broken heart
All I ask gentle readers is that you do not glide over the fanfic's because you see the dreaded title "Insert Canon here xOC" Instead i urge you to give it a try, read a chapter or a few paragraphs before you judge the OC. Do your bit...kill a Sue/Stu....I'm kidding but really please help GOOD Oc fan-fics thrive ♥
