# About me
Derik Diaz was born and raised in Ithaca, New York where his interest in art and comic books developed at an early age. Derik studied Sequential Art at The Savannah College of Art and Design where he honed his skills and graduated with a BFA in 2008.
Since then Derik has self-published a short graphic novel entitled Air-Heart (which you can check out here!) and has produced illustrations and storyboards for various companies in the U.S. Derik cites Bruce Timm, and Mike Weiringo as two of the largest influences on his personal artistic style.
Derik currently lives with his family in Columbus, Ohio where he continues to pursue his passion, most recently in the form of this glorious webcomic. Derik is looking forward to developing The Adventures of Toad for many more years to come.

Love it. It's a huge influence on my stuff. That said I've tried to take in my own direction utilizing both other influences and my own personal touch. My thought is that some folks don't always deviate (pun intended) enough from their inspirations to make a style truly their own.

Do you think Disney Renaissance animation could be mistaken for Timm Style, if someone incorporated Dark Deco into it?

You could always try and set up an independent animation studio that creates and produces (new) shows for different people.

I wish. Maybe some day. I'm not an animator, but it would be really cool to be a character designer or storyboard artist on something like that.
