Your welcome! I have taken a recent interest in astrophotography again, but I have a few questions to ask and you seem like the person that would know. First one is Ive been looking for a telescope in the $200 to 300 range, and to just use it for picturing the moon with a dslr. Id rather spend more money on a tube than the mount since the moon doesnt require a long exposure. The second question is instead of getting a tube and mount is too just get a nice tracking mount to put my dslr on with a 300m lens. Would finding a mount in my budget even work out? And would I still need to get a star tracker at all? Thanks for the help.

From a friend, eh? Lucky...
I'd just recommend messing around with it! The way I learned was by watching tutorials. Just find a tut with an end result you like, and do it! There are some good ones here on DA, and a bunch more on youtube.

They're awesome.
Good luck, and have fun!
