Hi! What's up amigo?
I've faced a little problem in 3ds max, hope you can help (:
I'm trying to make some feathers in 3ds max, and the best way I found was drawing some splines, attaching them and applying the "Hair and Fur (WSM)" modifier to them. Due to my scene setup (lighting and such), using the geometry method for rendering the fur is the most suitable.
But when I use the geometry method, it doesn't render the fur generated using splines (those generated out of meshes are quite good though). I don't know if there is anything I'm doing wrong or it's just a bug...
Btw I'm using mental ray.

Hi. I was over at 3DAristsClub and saw that you were a helper for Maya. I am still fairly new to Maya but as I take tutorials I learn more and more. My last piece was my first Maya project done entirely on my own. Its not great but its a start.
I do have a question though. I am trying to learn how to make chrome in Maya. I did one tutorial but I didnt like the outcome. Do you have any suggestions?

have you tried, Mia_material ? right click > apply new matria > Mia_material, thesse are physically accurate materials of mentalray.. add a Hdr image as dome and you r good to go.
Note: mia_material is not chrome material , its consists of many presets you hav to choose preset,, google or youtube videos can help you more then words, leme know he outcome
