i can agree on all that. i would like to get back into the con scene up here. i did it down in the south while i lived down there but since i moved up here, i haven't managed to get a table anywhere. i was just getting ready to start looking through who had and hadn't booked their AA completely already.

Getting a table is getting rough. Competition is a lot harder than it was back in the day. Otakon is one of the hardest.

it's been harder everywhere since certain individuals have been buying half the alley. they've been at otakon and down at the cons in the south i go to.

Oh the good old Mr. and Mrs. Shiny Desu. I sat next to them at this years past Otakon and believe me when I said everyone was pissed since they were in Dealers' room as well.

ugh, yeah. at metrocon they literally bought half of a whole row, front and back plus the endcap. it was stupid as hell and frustrating.

but yeah, i need to work on more finished pieces for right now. i'm not happy with my old portfolio as an example of my ability, haha.

Were you there at Otakon when they bought 14 tables? I've never been so embarrassed to be at a con. The staff that were working couldn't even tell that it was the same artist. And when we obviously had proof they didn't do anything.

What was really sad was that not only the customers noticed but all the industry. I had people from Tokyopop and Funimation actually come up to me and compliment me on my original style and complain why anything isn't being done.

i wasn't there but i know some people who were. and they did eventually manage to get them in trouble for this past year, where they only managed to buy two tables. it was a pretty shitty situation though, yeah.

and that's cool dude. i really want to get back into the con circuit, haha. got any table space you'd be willing to split?

katsu seems really weird this year too, i was looking into it and they're being super-strict on what you're selling, how much is fanart and all that kind of stuff. it's also really expensive, like otakon expensive.
