I am doing pretty alright myself- I'm halfway around the world doing volunteer work and hanging with my family so it's nice.

I'm just going into ninth grade, so I have another year to go before I can drain my mind of all of those great memories of Neopets, almost dying in the same camp twice and tripping in heels (I'm going to be 4'11" for the rest of my life, and since it sucks not being able to reach that metaphorical cookie jar, I'm going to have to learn how to strut my stuff with the assistance of heels. XD).

Wow, that's very sweet of you--doing volunteer work, I mean. :3 I volunteer at odd jobs every chance I get (nursing homes, the local library and preschools), so I can completely relate. Bleh, hoppefully you have a well-rounded family instead of ones that fawn over you because you're the "red sheep" in the famlily who's surrounded by black sheep, and you're the youngest.
But, halfway around the world? It's my ultimate dream to travel the world, so I might add that I'm uber jealous! >w< What pull/push factors have brought you to those waters?

Well, I'm only 5'3 soo I had my share of learning to walk the walk in heels too. I'm still learning. Lolz, it's not exactly easy getting used to walking on needles. xD

I'm the oldest on one side and the youngest on the other-- well, the ex-youngest since now I have a little cousin who's 1 but she's not here so I guess at the moment I'm still the 'youngest'. Haha, yeah, I get doted on but moreso because I haven't been here in years than because of my age. :3

I was actually born halfway around the world. ;D So I'm here volunteering in the place where I was born, kinda neat. ^^

Yup, yup, I hear you there. XD I am so bad at manuvering around in heels, that I spilled my quasi-best friend's coke (yuck) all over his expensive new tuxedo. Haha, oops. I spent the majority of my graduation hiding in the bathroom from his wrath.
(But, to make matters worse, I'm done growing at 4'11", I'm thin and I've had double D-cups since sixth grade. CAN YOU IMAGINE MY BACK PAIN? LOLOL)

Aww, I'm the youngest on both sides (though everyone but one cousin on my mother's side died, so I suppose it's only one). Well, at least you can bask in the well-deserved limelight, then. People fawning over you must be fun. :3 (Oh, and a one-year-old? How adorable! I'm a sap for babies)

Oh, really? That's amazing! you don't have to give me specifics if you don't want to, but might I have a little insight as to where you were born? Does that mean that you're bilingual? The town I was born in is where my best friend lives, so I feel oddly nostalgic every time I visit her.

Ah, that's cool. I feel most nostalgic in NYC, since that's where I grew up. :3 Though we visited our old-old house in England a few years back and THAT was super nostalgic. Nobody I know lives in those places anymore though. D:

Hmm, lesse. Well, I've always been good with languages so I guess part of it is that, but what I find helps the most is just talking. Lots. My friend is just as obsessed with spanish as I am so often our conversations drift out of English and into Spanish. :3 Also, my parents speak both English and Kannada to me at home, so I hear it there too. And now after listening to so much Japanese music and anime, I'm starting to pick up Japanese too. Soo... yeah. Immersion is the best thing you can do to really understand a language.

Ahh lucky you! I wish I was still there. D: Well, I might be for college.

(Swimming is torture, for I have to wear a bathing suit for it. Two years ago in camp after free swim time, the boy who harbored a surplus of affections for me could NOT take his eyes off of my melon-chest when we were walking towards the locker rooms before we went our separate ways. In my mind I was like, "Um, dude, up here. Eyes off the chest. XD")

...Wow. Well, I used to (stupidly, might I add) believe that I could speak fluent Japanese. Ever since I realized that using suffixes in real life is a major turnoff, I promptly proceeded to give up on every language that came my way. Pero, mi madre es muy inteligente, y habla mucho espanol, so perhaps I could try to speak it with her (LOLOL here's to flaunting my non-existent Spanish skills! XD). I am very good when it comes down to blatant memorization, however. That's my strong suit. :3

Oh, really? That's super coral! Hey, maybe we could meet up at NYAF next year if you'll be there (I'm no Internet-stalker-pedo combo, though, but I can understand your apprehension if you have any). What colleges are you checking out? I can give you some helpful hints, perhaps, for my best friend's older brother (an anime tard, too, naturally XD) was accepted (on a scholarship, might I add) to all seven Ivy League colleges. WOW. Haha, there's a girl in my class who thinks I can speak fluent Japanese just because she heard me teaching my friend some of the common swearwords they use in anime. xD
Mi padre tambien habla espanol, porque el trabaja con personas que solo hablan espanol...unas veces yo hablo con el, para practicar antes de un examen. (YAY SPANISH. It's such a pretty language.)
But yup, talking to her would help a lot, and in the end it's really the conversational spanish that makes a difference in life.
Ah yes, memorization. I'm pretty good at it too, especially short term stuff, so it's saved my ass quite a few times. Hehe.

I probably won't get to be at NYAF next year, but the year after that.... possibly. Right now I'm looking at Hopkins, NYU, BU, Harvard (haha but I won't get in), U Chicago, Northwestern aaand U Penn is all I can think of off the top of my head.

That's actually hilarious. XD There's this one chick in my school who calls me "Elana-chan" because she thinks that she's mastered the Japanese language through anime. It kind of irks me when people use suffixes in real life, however.
...I actually understoog half of that without the assisstance of Google Translator. Hip hip hooray! :D It's only a pretty language if you understand it, hurhur. I dislike it, but not hate it because one of my closest friends is Spanish.
