glad you connected with it, and you're quite right.
although the indea of revolution/freedom is clearer in the boltcutter image - breaking down the fences and barriers etc - the crowbar played more on the concept of using such tools in context because as most people said, it's very much a tool most used as a weapon.

so, when is old cottser going get his groove on and submit some work again?

It's an ink drawing, just worked out conflicting and wrong perspective points and drew it. I looked through Akira for references for the tower of relief and desperate city.

thanks again for the comments. in a way, you sort of remind me why i'm doing it and what i should/was thinking about. sounds strange but since i left school i havent been creating much. bits here and there, but not like before. anyways, thought i'd reply to a few of the comments...

interesting that you did ASP, as from memory your last site was done in PHP. i've been working with both, but i mostly use ASP as that's what my work's website was made in. My first real programming language was Java, so it's cool to be able to use it in ASP.

Nice pick up on the nested photos in Break the Cycle. It was basicaly about not making the same mistakes as the last generation, learning from the past. The photo's in the corner where taken like 40 years ago using old-school cameras. I took the photo using a digital camera... and who knows, my kids might take a photo of it using some futuristic holographic extractubulator or something

My newer textures look different because for the most part their source was taken using my new camera. I also sharpen them a bit to give them the detail i've started to become addicted to. Filesize rockets, but hey, i've got broadband now so it don't matter much (for me at least)

The photo of the cool chair is coming soon, it's sitting on the hardrive of the computer who's installation of windows has corrupted... so when i can be bothered/find the time, i'll rescue it and the other work waiting to be published.

as for the wierd looking fuses.... i'm not 100% sure they are fuses. i think they are for our washing machine.

well. finished school, returned my good faithfull laptop, got into uni, chose the wrong course so dropped out, got a job at an ISP doing odds and ends, rebuilt their intranet several weeks in, setup some database front-ends for the members of staff who couldn't get their heads around SQL the old fashioned way, stuck my foot in it by volunteering to redesign their website (unfinished), stuck my foot in it again by suggesting we offer webdesign services to those customers of ours who's websites are in dire need of bringing into the new millenium... and now i'm working my way through that at the moment. From a technical aspect i've come a long way since i started working there, so i've got this strong urge to redo the intranet again... as it's a freaking mess now that i look at it...

anyhow. somewhere amongst all that i'm trying to get my website's backend built, which should hopefuly be sped up once i get my laptop.

phew. that's the year in review. things a pretty cool i guess. busy as all hell, but thats how the world is eh?
