I'm curious if you can help me a bit. My last hat I made ended up being literally a fraction of an inch too small; i can fix it by stretching it, but i wanted to know if you happen to know of a trick or anything to avoid this from happening in the future?

sorry, I know of no trick other than soak the whole hat, stretch it and let it dry. as it dries, you need a form the right size for it to dry on

I use a swivel knife too, the engraver just allows me to do my beveling VERY quick.
