So here I find myself on the one year anniversary of the release of my first story that was so awful it tarnished and damn near destroyed my ability to write any coherent story, looking for inspiration for a new story to attempt to write my wrongs. Any good tips and or ideas on what to write about/finding inspiration?

Sorry about the delay - I can be very delinquent about responding to comments.
I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask about that because I have a lot of trouble coming up with new ideas. Β And by "new" I mean that I mostly try to write about things that no one else has written about before, try something that I've never done before, or reuse an old idea in a way that's never been done before. Β With almost 20 years' worth of stories in the community this can be extremely hard since people have already done a lot of inflation types (air/helium, water, WG, fruit transformations) and methods (magic, chemicals, air/water hoses).
Sometimes the best inspiration comes when you don't expect it, so I usually let ideas come to me. Β Sitting down and mentally hammering out an idea doesn't really work for me. Β Some of my best ideas have struck me when I've been driving home from work, watching TV, or reading something completely unrelated on the Internet or in a book. Β Waiting for this kind of inspiration sometimes means that you go several months or more without writing anything useful, but I'm more of a "quality over quantity" kind of guy. Β There are some authors on DA that I've simply stopped reading since they keep churning out stories every week or two that are the same damn thing.
Anyway... don't know if any of that helps, but if you have any other questions feel free to ask.
