CG used in Anime is much more modest compare to the manga. The manga is entirely based on 3DCGI model. Here is the author brief description of how they do the manga.

By the way, sometimes in the future, I might draw some machinery unit concept. I like an anime that have a good integration between 2D cel character and 3D environment and machine on background e.g. Studio Gonzo's anime (if you know what I'm talking about). So, may I take you a request to create it on 3D once I start working on it? Well.... you don't have to. I really want to see my machinery design on 3D. :3
