I would do your anatomy and drawing studies in a sketchbook, with pencil or pen, but when you're ready to paint digitally- I use Adobe Photoshop CC ( $10 a month subscription) and either a wacom intous pro tablet, or a tablet monitor. I use a 21" ugee tablet monitor right now, it works well and costs less than half the price of a wacom cintiq

Okay, here's a good question. How do you anatomy?

I would start with 3 books - Drawing from Life, by George Bridgeman, Dynamic Anatomy, by Brune Hogarth, and Figure Drawing for all it's Worth, by Andrew Loomis. Go through and study, then draw all the diagrams in the books. Keep doing this, and really try to understand how each part of the body works with the others. I would then draw as many figures in different poses as possible. Try to understand the limitations of movement, how the body can and cannot move. Spend at least an hour a day doing this, and eventually you'll get a good understanding. It does take time though, so be patient and keep at it every day!

Any online sources you know? I've been pretty good with basic anatomy, and oddly enough my worst parts is the torso and back plus the shoulders, while hands are just growing warm to me.
