It's taken me YEARS to understand only some parts of Photoshop! But when you paste a new picture in there, it's a Layer, and then there's a Layer Style, which, it's automatically set to "Normal", but you can set it to like.. 15 different things? Which one is "Multiply" and it just shows color through the picture without taking away from the picture, as if you were coloring it traditionally.. I don't know, I'm horrible at explaining things.
