you are most welcome! i am amazed at how well you are able to blend your acrylics. it is something i hope to learn to do as well as you someday

I am sure! Acrylics are not difficult to learn (IMHO), although I admit that sometimes acrylics irritate me, and I see I still have to practice a lot.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of extender do you use to help with your blending. I have two and they both are pretty terrible at helping blend

It is not a secret So, if I understand you well ... I use two ingredients: water or/and acrylic retarder (nothing special, just some cheap). Of course you have to experiment and I am sure you will find proper blend.

I've been tracking down that one, in fact. It has being compared with District 9, and man D9 Is one of the best sci-fi I've seen. The movie was aired on cable few days ago and will be on theaters in Oct.
DL'ing right now

yeah man, saw the trailers and heard it was ondemand. bloody-disgusting.com is my fav site to find gems like this one. i found it on stagevu and it was taking forever but still pumped to watch it. i absolutely love D9. watched it 3 times in the theaters. something so amazing about that movie yet so underrated by the masses!

Yeah I just got it and I will watch it later on. BD is a great site to find out about movies out of the spotlight but that are pretty amazing. I am curious about one they reviewed not so long ago called 'Rubber'. According to them is one of the best horror fuck-Hollywood ever made. Got to see that.
Had a good bday party?

mrhass In reply to L-3X [2010-09-29 02:12:49 +0000 UTC]
yeah i guess i had a decent birthday party, it was the day before....mainly because Dexter was on and its going to be one hell of a rough season. im already emotionally drained from just one episode. but its such an awesome thing that it comes around every year right around my birthday!!! we had people over to watch and had deep fried tacos. good stuff...maybe i shouldnt write a massive messages on my profile page lol, never really thought about that. let me know what you think of the monsters movie after you watch it

Sounds like fun! glad you had some in your bday party.
Dexter was awesome. It really drags you down into his psyche
and the problem overall. I cant wait to watch more.
Monsters... I suppose you already watched it. If you havent, quit reading and
go watch it.
Ok to be honest I really expected more
from that one and all the buzz around it. To me it was like
a romantic flick version for people into sci-fi.
The story offers a lot more to end up like that.
Really disappointed. Would have been the same if
the conflict was between mafia or invading leprechauns, at the
end didn't matter since all is shown is a developing relationship
throughout the movie. Even the monsters were making out! meh..

yeah i hear ya on that movie, turned out to be more of a romance movie than anything, little bit of alien here and there...yadayada. o well i guess, cant be like the remake of let the right one in?!!! those stupid bastards...god i wish someone would pull their head out of their asses and see that there is definately better stuff out there than to remake an already awesome movie. but thats because here in america "we dont read good so movys wit subtytles confuz us".....idiots

Haha! loved your subtitle mocking.
That remake is already getting the thumbs up for something it doesn't belong to it.
But at the same time, if you ask me, whoever gave the green light on the Swedish side to go ahead with this remake, knew what was doing. This obviously attracts more attention to the
original, and in case you haven't noticed, the original is becoming a weird mix of a cult-underrated-internet meme, of a movie just few knew about last year.
So putting aside our opinion of remakes being the dumbest idea ever, is actually a great $ idea for the holders or even creators of the originals...which brings me to think that is never about the movie itself or the love we have for them. But the greedy eyes, even of the creators and owners of such. Total shame.
I actually have to tell you I am impressed by Asian cinema lately...they are rocking my socks off with amazing movies!!

mrhass In reply to L-3X [2010-10-01 17:53:23 +0000 UTC]
yeah i guess it is a good thing in a sense, that the original gets a bigger audience to reach by being "remade". it just sucks that we cant(america)promote the original better than this remake. im sure that the director ok'd it but i bet he would much rather have his original be the only version there is.
so please tell me what asian cinema stuff you have seen lately that is causing your sock to fall off your feet?? lol. i would love to know, i am always up for rare movies as you are fully aware.

Overall...screw remakes. I think we both agree on that.
Actually is not only Asian movies I was talking about.
Surprisingly there is one that is low budget and that
I believe was cheaper to do than Monsters and its even better.
1. A bittersweet life.
This one is Asian. The theme, Yakuzas. And you know, I am not really fan
of crime-gang movies, but man. This one is one of the best, in every aspect.
2. Γ l'intΓ©rieur (Inside)
Probably you have seen it, if you don't, you are missing one of those jewels
like Martyrs that really makes you cringe. All with a simple pair of scissors.
3. Necromentia.
This is the one I was talking about. You can tell is a low-bu, but man, that money
was really well spent. At moments would seem cheesy, but believe me, by the end,
all makes sense, and you realize is more than you expected. Highly recommendable.

bittersweet life sounds interesting, will have to scope it out.
inside....ugh i remember watching this awhile back. its witht he woman that ends up being stuck in a bathroom and the crazy lady trying to cut out here unborn baby right? and then ends up having he stomach cut open with a pair of scissors to save the baby? if thats the one, yeah definately made my hair stand on end.
ill track down the necromentia movie as well
so, what do you have coming out soon? more photography or manips? im feeling very inspired since fall has started and i might be buying a new desktop. my cs3 has been running slower on my old comp and with the itch i got for manips, i think i might blast back on the scene for awhile. might even try to encourage you to team up with me on one soon? interested?

Yeah, you watched that infamous scissors scene already haha, it is pretty good.
Don't miss the other ones, they are really good.
I am, in fact trying to put a hell bunch of works out in the light.
I have 2 series and some other little projects/ideas. And they are
more of an experimentation in a field I abandoned while ago but that
I always wanted to come back and see what happens, and I am happy to say
the results are turning out very well.
I have been pretty much "out" for awhile also because of my own personal struggles.
It always interfere with my art, and of course work as well. Life, overall.
But I haven't stopped making art. I am just in a feeling mixed hurricane that is slowing me down too much. Art is the only thing that delivers relief but is hard to really concentrate sometimes.
I am surprised that I am actually having all kind of ideas and whatnot. I also want to start shooting more clips, etc.
A collab sounds interesting, and you can count on me. I just would like to finish the mountain of projects I have right now, and we can go crazy creating

keep climbing that mountain of work that you have, im in no rush at all. it will give me more time to work on my technique since your work outclasses mine.
im pumped to see your new works and the ideas from your older stuff. i look forward to it and use coming together on something freakishly awesome! o and i will watch at least one of those movies this weekend and tell you what i think

L-3X In reply to mrhass [2010-10-03 05:00:39 +0000 UTC]
Is not really that many pieces, but since I am having a different approach this time, is going to take more time. Would be interesting to do a collab, I need to have more interactions these days.
Yeah let me know what you think of those any time. Have a great weekend, bud!
