Hey thanks a LOT for the watch.. means a lot, even if it makes it harder to post, knowing people are actually watching... double edged sword I guess.. I know how you feel about looking ahead to artistic nudes and thinking you're running past other stuff.. hang in there.. It gets better, (I think, lol) I am just slightly ahead of you on the same path, I think... but even when I stumble over an amazing artist and think I suck.. I stay positive.. (many here have been terribly gracious with their talents and comments) Anyway.. thanks again.. and Great shots in your port!

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I try to get to replies right away. Wow you are a breath of fresh air. I have made friends with a couple pros but to have someone close to my level is a godsend. Thanks for the encouragement. Do you have problems with flaky models cause Im getting frustrated here. I want to pay for a model but don't think my skill is quite there yet. So I'm doing the best i can with my occasional model or subject, but I'm also getting the feeling perhaps my enthusiasm is misinterpreted as a horny guy wanting a pretty girl. Being 43 doesn't help. This for me is an intense hobby. One I have been dying to do since I was 18 and discovered Paulina Porizkova. My kids are about grown minus one David my youngest is 9. It is something though that I really am passionate about. I dont ever plan on being a pro but I do plan to shoot like one. I will prevail through these doldrums. I see pics i know I could do and i see those i wonder how the hell they did it. Sorry I ramble but would love your insights. Todd

Hey no worries..sad as it is we all have a life AFK.
I think maybe I misled you... the only nudes, artful or not, I have experience with shooting are all back in the day on film when I was more or less strictly just for the perv factor, and shooting.. er.. good friends... lol.. (Had a mail-in lab that would process just about anything..)
These days, with my mostly still shiny new DSLR (T1i) I am still shooting still life, landscape, etc.. and so far just the kids modeling.. but I'm getting ever (slowly) improving results...
I am starting up a local Camera club (like back in the old days when a group of pervs/photographers would hire a model and shoot as a gang, maybe? Now all we need is another Betty Page, right?) and then, along with some local charitable work (www.help-portrait.com/ kind of thing) I will be looking for local models mostly for TFCD/P type stuff.. mutual benefit of experience and portfolio for both models and photographers...
I do want to get into art nudes and take my photography to a higher level.. but I, too, am of the age (44) that I worry about just looking like a perv, (not that I'm NOT still a card carrying member. lol) like back in my 20's. I have some skills.. and a good eye.. and I just need practice... and mentor-ship...
Sounds like you and I are more or less on the same level.. I have also found a lot of really great artists here that are sort helping out with an encouraging word etc.. as much as is practical in this kind of forum... but I need more hands on and interaction..
