Btw, thanks for the note. But I usually prefer "discovering" music/band myself following mood/phase. Have been through American/European music phase in the 90s (from early century jazz to 80s punk, trip-hop alternative, grunge, Bjork, Portishead, Cocteau Twins, Ramones, LedZep, PJHarvey,BlackCrows,FooFighter,SonicYout h,Gershwin,ColePotter *snips off paragraphs of great jazz musicians),YoyoMa, South American bossanova, Argentina tango (Gardel), Cuban Jazz, etc etc etc). Oh and classical music and symphony orchestra too, just to name some of my favourites..
