Nice portrait drawings! these drawings of people that are underfed or facing hardships in life could evolve in a whole series of work with social content. You could work on this more Austin. I liked the way that you chose the colors there for a more dramatic effect. Check out the work of painter Leon Golub in his 'mercenaries' series to notice how his choice of subject is transformed (and enhanced) through the language of painting.

Thank you so much for the comments and the critique! I checked out Leon Golub-- I like the dynamic, almost uncontrollable movement in his art. It creates such a sharp contrast when his backgrounds become heavy or bold, and the subject takes on a more definitive grit in that style.
I too would like for my hardships/underfed-themed drawings to become more collaborative in a series. Thanks for the tip and the reference! It's always appreciated, as I'm sure you know.

Me too. That is the one thing that really seemed to make IT a truly frightning character. It and Henry Bowers are the two most evil characters I have ever read about, by far.
