Reader, Writer, Gamer, Geek.
I'm a fan of many things, and my blog Waxingnerdy will be dedicated to those things that apply to the parts of the geek/nerd subculture that I am interested in. This includes, but is not limited to: science, history, cartoons, anime, video games, comics, and books. I enjoy cooking and crafts as well, but I'm considering making a Pinterest account dedicated to those things when I have the money and space to get more serious about them.
I'm a history major with a minor in East Asian Studies. I've written quite a bit, and I continue to write because I have a lot of ideas and it's fun to turn them into stories. Alongside my father and mother, I spent the years from 2012 to 2014 as a non-medical caregiver for my elderly grandmother allowing her to live in her home for as long as possible. I am grateful for the time I spent with my grandmother. It's an experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. During that time, I honed my writing and storytelling abilities through the creation of a book titled Peace of the Five Houses. It was an extremely fun project, and I'm currently working on more. I've come a long way, and I'm proud of my writing style and the stories I'm creating. As much as I enjoy it, this isn't paying the bills and I 'm currently trying to reenter the workforce. Currently a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
