i noticed you took [my icon] there, bub. haha yeah i made that & used it as my icon in [iSketch] . my screenname is mmm_potatoes for that game (not to be confused with mmm_tomatoes, a kid who copied my username. yes, i am the original. hmm, looks like i start a few of trends, eh), but im assuming you probably know all that already.

thanks for the commenting! i didn't use a reference but i still think i need more practice on the figure. i never noticed the problems with her face til you pointed it out. and the hair is supposed to not have strand definition cuz i wanted it to look wet.

i really like painting with pastels ... it's perfect for doing portraits and humans, though i still have to learn so much ...
anyway i messed up abit with the her elbow, cause i did a mistake while fixing the pastels and so the colors got a bit smudgy there ...

thanks for the comment man! i left the hair like that cuz my friends told me to leave it before i submitted. they said it looked unique and unreal. yea the feathers should've cast a shadow. and i just suck at frozen liquids so yea

Thank you for the comment on Intense v2. I updated the image to one with a few less jaggies. I was using the oilpastel tool, which worked fine for some areas, and not so great for others. Next time, I think I'll use a normal paintbrush.

Thanks for the college advice! At the moment, both Dartmouth and Brown are sorta a long shot, but having the football coaches on my side is a step in the right direction! But yeah, if I had my choice, Brown would be the place to go. We'll just have to wait and see, now shalln't we?

I thought it looked quite fitting with the hair and then BANG the necklace... Yeah I think that necklace turned out great.. thank you for your great comment, and i'm with you, when u said that the heair and arm looks different. and and is cuz in the first place i paint some hair and then i give it a some kind of look with the finger tool. for me is very very dificult to draw hair with the mouse... almost imposible to me, so i give a thiner look, with the finger.. thats why tha face lloks so soft, and the air so smudgy, thank you for your comment, i'm trying to improve my airbrushig

i do oil painting, pastel and watercolor since i was 8.. but digital painting is a new area to me, and i luv it

I find it funny that u didn't even bother to go look at the original - which I submited on a screenshot and is right below on my deviations list - before saying what u said. Anyway, thank you so much for your kind support, I got so much of it that a few weeks ago I deleted all of my deviations. Thanks for the comments and suggestions! I really appreciate it...the clouds portion was taken at sunset, so it had that eerie orange glow and I adjusted the freeway for a gloomier, desolate mood. Uplifting, eh?

We had another storm last night which featured similar clouds, too--took pictures right up until the lightning was right overhead

hey man, thanks for the many many comments! so sorry it took me this long to get back to you though. OC in my opinion kinda paints more realistically than PS. i have no idea how to use Painter so no comment on that. but yea, sketching is by far much better with OC too. and umm i dunno why but hands don't really give me a problem anymore. most of the time i just use my own hand for reference. ok, i am eagerly aniticipating your masterpiece!

No offense taken, and I'm glad you said what you said, because although I am incredibly proud of my work on the piece, it wasn't entirely my own, and well, your comment has kinda spurred me to go and finish some of my sketches I had started a while ago, get them scanned in, and ink them in.

funnily enough the leaves were airbrushed with the same brushes i made for doing hair. kinda glad i didnt have to make more brushes for that piece =c)

i always have a lot of trouble with eyes. im reworking it atm.. trying like hell not to make it as blurry and trying to get the eyes looking a bit more spherical and shiny.

ooh yea, thanks for the comment on that coloring practice piece i have. hehe actually the lines weren't inked in at all it was just a very clean pencil drawing. i had to make the lines extra thick and dark with the pencil so that it would scan cuz i was too lazy to ink it. anyway... most of my inkings get messed up cuz i have a shaky hand when it comes to something as permanent as ink
