Just wanted to let you know that the blue steel damascus knife arrived safely today. The photo does it no justice, it is a breathtakingly beautiful piece. Can't wait to wear it on Sunday.

I'm glad you are happy with it and that it got there in a timely manner. I will warn you that it is actually sharper than you would think. You may wish to stay mindful of its edge since it has a tendency to slice without grabbing.
May I ask if you have a special use for it?

Thank you for the warning. I made a point of testing its keeness very carefully and know to be extremely respectful of that edge. I do Renaissance and medieval reenactment, so it will be a crafting tool used in those settings. For a person of those periods, such a finely made blade would be a prized posession, indeed.
