I just finished reading your story simulacrum, I've been reading it since december.
and even being aware of all the tropes and everything, you still managed to tell an emotionally powerful, moving tale. kudos to you, and I hope other things you write are that good, you have some real promise as a writer, and should definitely keep at it.
I look forward to reading more of what you've written.

Thanks very much! The funny thing about Simulacrum is that, at first, it was just an exercise for me to get back into writing (I'd had a 2-year dry spell thanks to an unrelentingly intense work schedule). Once I got into it, though, I was just having too much fun writing it to let it go and I knew I had to finish.
I've been very happy, though a bit overwhelmed, by its popularity. I haven't had as much time to work on writing since I finished it (my work has gotten very busy again) but I hope folks like my upcoming works at least as much as this one. We'll just have to see

BTW, I voted for the OC, as long as it's not a Mary Sue. It might make it easier for you to manipulate events to bring him and Nanako together, although Yuuta could still be in town as a teenager. Ken might be a little far-fetched unless Nanako moves to Port City (or Ken moves to Inaba, perhaps investigating some new supernatural occurrences).

Overall I think it's a good premise, and I definitely want to see more. I posted a critique with the story. I had to split it up into two parts, though, since it seems I wrote so much that the site was choking on it

Looks much better now, and I like the new "hook" at the beginning. There are still punctuation issues and I think one or two spelling errors, but otherwise I think it looks good.
One thing, and this is more of a preference issue for me than a hard and fast rule, but if I use a word like "deity" multiple times in consecutive paragraphs (or even within the same paragraph) I usually either switch to one of a couple different synonyms for some of the instances, or reword a sentence here and there so the word isn't needed. There's nothing wrong with how you did it, I just like to mix it up a bit.
Can't wait to see more!

Well that's the end. I was really hoping that something dramatic would happen to Souji and Yukiko back together again, they're my favorite pairing >_<. But in the end it was a great fanfic zeph and you have my respect as a writer.

Thanks very much! "Simulacrum" has been a big deal for me, since I've devoted so many resources to it, and you have no idea how thrilled I am that people like it.
Sorry I couldn't deliver on Souji/Yukiko, but this was just where things ended up going for them. Rise and Yukiko seem to be the two "default" girlfriends in the game, since they're the easiest to "accidentally" end up with (all it takes is finishing their S. Links without being a jerk, basically), and they always seemed to be the most affectionate toward him. To be honest, when I first started out I thought I would have Souji and Yukiko back together, and that the story would almost entirely focus on them. As it went on, though, and as things grew so much more complex than my original outline (which looks practically nothing like the finished product
Maybe after a short break I'll write another, with Yukiko and Souji together. I did a short one-shot with him and Chie, though looking back it seems more cookie-cutter (any girl from the game could probably have filled the role). I guess we'll just see

I'll probably have to go back through and re-edit it (looking back, I could have done much better), but I should warn you: it's a very sad story.
Writing "Simulacrum" has been a very good experience for me overall, and I'm very happy that so many people have liked it. I think I'll definitely be re-visiting the "Persona" universe again soon. I don't know if I'll have it in me to do another Persona project as ambitious as "Simulacrum", but who knows? I made a point of leaving the ending open enough so there could be a sequel if I (or someone else) wanted to write it.

November has been an extremely trying month for me, personally and professionally, so I haven't been able to devote the time I wanted to Simulacrum. I'm working on the next chapter, though, and should have it done within the next week or so.
If it helps, my turnaround time for chapters, probably until it's finished, is about every 3 - 4 weeks.
