Description

This is my kiriban prize for my ΓΌbersweet for catching my 60 000th pageview!! ...and no, we did't cheat this time either ...next kiriban is 66 666
His scene request was similar to my Daybreak and Twilight - the composition is similar, but I didn't want to make it look too similar, so I chose an unusual POV, plus - first time in my life lol - I really sat down and experimented with rock functions and materials. I used a material from =nukeation 's Mineral Infinity pack for basics, then I examined it, played with layers etc...
Well, he liked it

Vue 8 Infinite + minor postwork in PS CS4
Full view recommended!!
Special thanks to my =iMUDa1 for his brand new custom render profile - it worked fine, and the scene was rendered in less than 3 hours!

Thanks for viewing!

Very nice. I love your Vue work. It's quite impressive. I have the mineral infinity pack as well. I never got as good as you did on your rock colorations though. they look very natural. I love it.

Great work! The whole picture really looks believable! My only critique is the tree in the corner, it looks slightly out of place.

Slightly increased Aerial Perspective, light balance pulled to sunlight (at least 70%), increased fog and haze density, and/or low stratus fog cloud layer, and volumetric sunlight on

I love the sense of depth you create in this scene. And those steep terrains Won't you tell how you make those? I can only make terrains with fairly shallow slopes. Is it Vue or some other program?

Lovely work Drea!

00AngelicDevil00 In reply to synergy543 [2010-01-25 21:47:44 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot!
The terrain work was very complex; a series of exeriment so I can't even remember every step, but I turned the terrains to procedural, then added a slight stara filter, then added a new material layer with the same material but different bump function...something like that

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

synergy543 In reply to 00AngelicDevil00 [2010-01-28 04:44:56 +0000 UTC]

I just got Vue 8 so I haven't yet learned about strata filter but if that's what you're doing, it sure looks cool!

More than the technique though, I admire your aesthetic choice and composition. Keep it going!

Yeah, you're not the only one who spotted this. These characters are low-poly, not too good quality models for distant views, so their skin texture are not the best either. You're right
