August 2nd, 2155 A.D.;

UN Peacekeepers are sent to the eastern Forest Wolf Keidran tribe areas after recieving a call for help that ended abruptly with the other end of the line being left off the hook. All that came from that end after that was a lot of screaming, coughing, gasping, then dead silence, other than a faint but brief hissing. Three other Keidran villages have gone dark in the same way, all along the border with the Mekkani Human Empire. The Peacekeepers are sent to investigate, and find the whole village had been gassed by a gruesome chemical weapon. Bodies are everywhere, and the weapon did not discriminate; elder folk, young men, women, children, even infants are found dead where they either fell or laid when they drew their last breath, bleeding from the lungs and eyes, some even vomiting. It seems there are no survivors, until one of the Peacekeepers shouts out they'd found a live one, and immediately starts screaming for a medic. A few other survivors are found later, and it turns out the other three villages had come under similar attacks, but unfortunately, by the time UN aid arrives in those villages, it's too late. This crying, frightened young wolf boy is among the fortunate few, and now an orphan of war. A victim of a new Holocaust.

"We interrupt this broadcast to bring you an urgent news bulletin!" "At 3:05 PM Morlin time, chemical attacks were triggered across multiple Keidran tribal areas of Mekkan." "Many are considering this the worst terror event in a decade."

After an investigative committee is brought to the villages, and the survivors are interviewed after substantial recovery, it turns out the attack was orchestrated by Templar forces disguised as emissaries for bordering human villages, aided and supplied by remnant anti-UN rebels, who, up to this point, were believed by many in the UN to have long been defeated and disbanded.

FYI The UN is not truly involved in the conflict at this point. If it was, then Peacemakers would be sent instead of Peacekeepers.

I apologize if this scene seems a bit too gruesome for you to see. I wanted to have a sort of sad scene here to emphasize the Templar's supposed/implied goal against seemingly most, if not all non-humans in Mekkan. Also, I gotta say, is pretty damn good at imitating Tom's art style!
