I'm just starting to experiment with pens and markers. Are Copic markers expensive? If so, are they worth it?

I'm looking into Copic markers, but as you could tell by my gallery if you choose to check it out (hint hint) I'm not that great an artist. Are these markers hard to get used to for a beginner? Are they worth the money?
