modeled and rendered in Cinema 4D r11i was walking away from this project when ~DudQuitter encouraged me to make better materials . i tried and failed . but *whoooosh!* *Neon-Monkey to the rescue !! i used 3 of his materials on the car , along with a random HDRI map on the sky (another suggestion from Dud) , and i really like the new look so i had to post yet another render of this little cutie

i wouldn't have even tried this if it wasn't for youif you use C4D you should really check *Neon-Monkey 's materials
if you didn't see the others , this model was based on a mix between the main cars from the classic NES game Spy Hunter and the original cartoons of Speed Racer
also-also on this i fixed where the front bumper and fender meet

since this render i've played with adding 2 of your grasses . Deadgrass and Sway look good together . and i've built a fence along the road at the edge of the grass and used one of your woods . not sure if i'll do a render of that because my pc hates me ...

About the road.. Finding the right textures is the key. Specially textures that come with bump and speculars. If you have a good asphalt texture but it doesn't come with bump or specular you can use this program called "crazy bump" or another program called "pix plant". It creates bumps speculars displacement maps for you, all you have to do is import your texture image and finetune the values. And you have perfect textures.

i did think about making a racing version with black stripes a number and various decals . that would've made it look a lot more like herbs no doubt
thanks for the program names . i checked them out , did a bit of research and reading in forums and found a free Gimp Script called InsaneBump which is based on how CrazyBump works . i grabbed that but haven't tried it yet . i've never even used the Specular tag before . i'll google a bit some time and try to find a good sets of bump and specular patterns . i bet that would make my projects look better

It would for sure. Good textures can even beat vray materials.. And you probably know how realistic vray materials are.
