Description
I just downloaded and installed swftools. One of the programs
is called gif2swf. It can convert a gif animation into a flash file.
I used my triangle ripple to test it out.

gif2swf 120-triangle-ripple.gif -o 120-triangle-ripple.swf

One of the advantages is that flash files can be compressed very well and are smaller than the original gif files. The downside is that you can't convert them back to the original gif file. However, since all my stuff is publicly available, it's not much of a problem.
